Can't keep my son from driving my Tacoma when he is home from college even though he has his own wheels. I know this would not have happened if I bought a Ridgeline, LOL.

Anyone have hard and fast rules about letting their driving-age children take the relatively new Taco?

If he gets the grades and stays away from drinking and vaping I let him have it once in a while.

My wife, daughter and now granddaughter who just got her license have driven my trucks. Where we live, a Truck is the best vehicle to get in and out. Everyone needs to be proficient driving trucks.....they are most practical vehicles made. We all have to be ready for the Zombi apocalypse.

Do you think if you referred to vape pens as "pussy sticks" it'd deter him even further?

If he’s responsible in school and takes care of his own personal items, then I wouldn’t mind him driving my truck a couple days out of the year. It’s really all about your parenting style and well... insurance coverage just in case something does happen.

No but I loaned mine to my geezer parents and my father backed into a bush scratching up the tailgate. It has a camera and beeps when you get near stuff and he still did it.

God no. I have 2 boys in college. They both have their own cars which were purchased when they had their permits so they wouldn't be learning on mine or my wife's car. My wife has her own. Nobody drives anyone else's car unless we all went somewhere together (like grandma's for Thanksgiving) and someone needs to go out and the only car available is the one we all traveled in. That's usually my wifes Pilot (the family hauler).

Also "can't stop him"? Don't leave your keys lying around.

No and no. My wife only drives my truck when I have to drive an even bigger truck. Not that the taco is big but its bigger than a Ridgeline. I went wheeling today without my kids or my wife. She was busy shoveling snow. lol
