Thanks! I tried the big guys at first, Analog Devices, PG&E, East Bay Mud, Lockheed Martin, etc. Didn’t hear back from any of them. So I tried the tourism job fair instead.

 

Why on earth would you want to work for PG&E right now lol...Lockheed Martin would have been awesome though

 

Could've probably scavenged one of those over @ the old base in Alameda... lol

or, better yet - @Kwikvette might be up for a midnight Fort Ord raid

 

You just need to show up at their office and ask for the manager. Shake a few hands. Put a face to the name on your resume. Damn Gen Z millenial kids aren't even trying

I was always interested in city planning and infrastructure. PG&E linemen have nothing to do with the shitstorm going on, it’s the administration.

I 100% knew I was in no way qualified for Lockheed Martin when the line to just talk to them was 45 minutes long.

 

Truth. It's how I got my current job. Saw the posting online, noticed the HQ was local to me and just went in to see if I could meet the supervisor that was hiring. He met with me and had a huge stack of resumes on his desk that he had printed out from people's replies to the job listing, told me straight up he didn't want to go through them all. Looked at mine and my portfolio and I started a couple days later, been here going on 5 years now

 

If all goes well, I have an internship lined up at Salesforce this Summer. Good friend of mine’s father works with the hiring manager there.

 

Its all good. First real job is always tough, no matter what your high school and current college exp is. Especially today. Next time around will be better.

 

maybe instead of a gooseneck or Diamond SFA I should spend my fun budget on eye surgery

 

My cousin is actually in charge of the runway at Alameda Point. He worked with Mythbusters, Tesla, The Matrix, etc. when they film movies and television shows on the two runways.

 

Dude, plenty fun going out there especially if you bike, but you gotta be careful with all the asbestos in those old barracks and shit.

I was actually born there in that old hospital Silas B Hayes back in the day; military brat here.

 

Hope that works out, I bet there will be no shortage of things for you to learn there and it will open up plenty of opportunities to new companies as well

 

dude I've been telling myself that for awhile but I'm seriously looking to do it now. My contacts drive me fucking crazy, my allergies have been awful the last couple years and the contacts don't want to stay in my eyes. Hate wearing glasses. Gotta just bite the bullet on the surgery already
