Well we got to Rowher yesterday for our camping trip, and lo and behold they had the gates to the entrance locked. I've been there countless times over the last few years and have only seen the gates locked twice now, usually even in bad weather they keep it open. Weird. So that sucked lol. Also started pouring rain.
With no real backup plan in place we just ended up camping in the campgrounds by Castaic Lake since we knew it was open year round. No wheeling though :(

That’s to bad. The good part is that you got a chance to camp correct me if I’m wrong with your dad and son.
It seems every year they who ever is in charge restrict us more and more when the weather changes.

Yeah we did indeed get to camp, was my dad, me, my brother and my nephew. He had a great time regardless, I was bummed we couldn't wheel but there will be time for that in the future. With how rainy and muddy it was yesterday it probably wouldn't have been a good idea to do that solo anyway.

And yeah, I think they are getting more strict now about closing trails during bad weather to prevent liability from when people get stuck or hurt from doing something dumb. Sucks for the rest of us though. Rowher is a fun trail to do in the rain, and the mountain that the Rowher trail climbs is covered in snow right now. Probably why they closed it though

Went up to Lytle Creek today and had a blast minus the traffic jams caused by idiots parking in the road.

There was snow basically past the ranger station and enough snow for people to stop and play(and park half way on the road) for a few miles before the gun range/gravel road. The gravel road had half a foot to a foot where it wasn't dug out and a few miles(edit: actually only 1.5 miles) up the gravel road was where I took this picture.

Would if I could, unfortunately I've got a traditional 9-5 Monday thru Friday so weekends are my best bet. And even those haven't been good lately lol :(

This coming Sunday the 8th I'm looking to go up to Big Bear and get some snow under my tires. Probably take Coxey Rd up if it's open next weekend. If not then maybe Rattlesnake Canyon

Gonna put my new (to me) front bumper and skids on this Saturday so I'll have to get them some action.

I know @oni06 just got some new rubber he needs to try out as well

Maybe we should have traded haha. My Budbilt is twisted some though toward the back, needs to be pressed back into shape. If I were to get another in the future I would get some gussets welded onto it to prevent that from happening. Seems to be a little common

So you guys ran Cleghorn? Looking at the map, there are two Cleghorn trails? I'm not familiar with the area.

Cleghorn has the main 'trail' that is really just a fire road, but then a bunch of offshoots - some longer than others - that range in difficulty and eventually connect back to the main fire road at some point. Cleghorn eventually meets up with the Pilot Rock trail which is the same thing, a fire road with difficult 4x4 offshoots. And then there's the Pilot Rock 'X' trail that is 4x4 only and is it's own actual trail, meets up with the easy Pilot Rock trail about halfway through.

It's a pretty big area with a lot of trails lol

No, this Sugarpine Mountain Trail - 2N49. Starts down at the bottom of the Cajon Pass, off the 215 before it joins the 15. We were trying to run the length of the trail to exit on the 138, then decide where to go from there, but unfortunately the trail was blocked by felled branches and snow near the summit of the trail, so we just came back down the way we came.

This is the start of the trail: 6989-6999 Palm Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92407
