Is the plan still for adaptive cruise control to be covered in 2.0?

I'm also going back to the OLE. Just need to locate it again haha, I think it was the 16012.
Looking forward to the final 2.0.

If it fails to do the trick, a workaround is to get a budget USB 2.0 hub

Finally installed OVTune today. I was skeptical but holy smokes, my truck doesnt feel like its hauling a ton to try and accelerate. And its just so much smoother, especially on the top end.

I can't help but think all this back and forth problematic shit with file problems and computer issues would be much less frequent if a plug and play handheld unit were the only option.

I have been sitting here reading this crap on and off for over a year now... and still no handhelds in circulation ???

This is why I have $300 into a Pedal Commander and $60 spent on an ECT Always on module.

Get the damn handhelds into circulation and eliminate all the bullshit associated with file sharing and glitchy file names/computer issues.

    Helloooo ??? McFly ???? :annoyed:

Why so much angst about something you obviously have no interest in?

I’ve been tuned for 2+ years. It’s not that hard.

unlike ect and pedal commander, this actually fixes the issues instead of covering them in bandaids..

for the $300 you spent on the pedal commander, you could have bought a tactrix adapter and applied the latest TSB. That would have been more worthwhile and saved you $100.

Wow dude. You win the “Most Non value-Added Post” award.
Opinions are valued if you actually have some experience with the subject matter of a thread. And you have spent all that time reading and brooding about something you don’t own or know anything about and this is the contribution you felt compelled to make?
Flashing tunes to your truck is not rocket science but some folks are not computer savvy so they need help. My guess is you fall into that group. Stay in your depth and I honor you by being the first on my “Ignore” list.

To be completely honest he’s correct. Wording could have been different but overall he’s right. If the developers could see the future and wanted to alleviate all the issues derived from simple human error then I’m sure they would have made it as dummy proof as possible. Look at car audio, remote starts, the simplicity of upgrading ram in a computer. Everyone today wants simple and plug and play with the click of one button.

All this said it’s a proud moment looking back as a successful small business to see its growing pains from what they started as to where they get to further down the road. I’m sure the OVTune guys would love a much more simple product as their countless added hours of non stop emails related to people not understanding or being able to trouble shoot something complex and out of their comfort zone.

What’s the issue? Order product, open box, read directions, plug computer into car. Drive

That’s the perfect world yes. Not everyone is computer savvy and you’d be surprised how many people today have enough money to purchase this product, realize later they need a computer even with the handheld, purchase a computer, then have a ton of trouble due to lack of basic computer skills. However this person paid for a product wanting to improve his truck in the manner the tune provides. Does this person deserve to be bashed because he’s not as computer savvy and doesn’t even have a clue how to disable antivirus that is preventing him from getting further than say step two of the 6 minute installation video?

Once upon a time something was difficult for you and you needed help. Be humble you may need help later on with something you’re not familiar with.

Reading comprehension and the ability to follow directions is the problem.

While a handheld only option would have been fantastic for the customer, and stream lined rollout, this obviously wasn't in the deck of cards or we would all have handhelds. We should all just be grateful we have tuned trucks instead the of the junk tunes that Toyota produced.

You can be a dunce like me who read the instructions 20x and still was opening the non-dongle program, and submitted a ticket that made me realize I read it wrong to begin with. There was a portion I didnt see about installing drivers but I saw that portion on the video instructions. So whenever steps are involved theres room for error with each step.

Can confirm that despite the OVTune website saying "virtual machines not supported" that you can in fact use OVTune with a virtual machine with parallels desktop on a mac with Win 10. I think "not supported" is really "if you ask me how to make it work with your non standard setup I won't be able to offer much help".

I’m terrible with computers... And I’m probably wrong, but don’t you still need a computer to update your handheld?
