Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
True, but there are a significant number of lithium chemical battery blends with different attributes and stabilities. Recommend whatever battery or charger has built in temp safeties to adjust lithium charging for temps to protect in cold weather.

I’ve read through all 128 pages and it’s a bit of a blur now. I was going to get OGE full split kit but for a deal on here for the aux cage so I’ll be piecing my setup together.

OGE states it uses 8 gauge for its dual kits but seems like many of you are recommending 4 gauge??

Pretty sure my OGE kit came with #2 gauge wire. Cant imagine they would have down sized. Maybe a misprint on their website?

OGE's website, can't be linked but this is what I find under 2005+ Tacoma OR / Pro Complete Dual Battery System "Split-System":

ALL necessary cables. Only the highest quality, USA made, high strand count, 2 AWG welding cable is used in our kits. Cables are pre-terminated with tinned copper lugs that are properly crimped.

Always use the proper wire gauge for the amount of current anticipated. And have the appropriate fuse/breaker.

    It's complicated.
Correct. My kit came with 2 AWG.

I'm using 4 AWG on the return path that ends with a batterytrays setup, and SP9100 (which I haven't yet installed due to work schedule.)

Has anyone been able to fit anything larger than the Group 35 in the auxiliary location on a 3rd Gen in a OGE tray?

I have a deep cycle battery that is new had in one of my trailers I sold, it’s dimensions are 13”long 8” high and 6-1/2” wide, do you think I could some how fit it under my hood without having to do some major relocating. I wouldn’t mind under the box somewhere like inside rear fender, just not sure if it will fit.

Relocate your power steering reservoir to just under the ABS module and you’ll have space near the washer fluid reservoir

If it can’t fit anywhere on the passenger side, then relocate it to the bed or behind the seats if you have a double cab. Just dont put it anywhere under the hood on the driver side. Too much weight and will for sure crack your fenders

Unless it's an AGM or Li-Ion I don't recommend putting in the cabin due to off gassing.

    Hi all,

I have a dual-battery OGE kit running group 35 x2powers, to a powertray/switch-pro 8100. I have had some issues with my main battery not starting -- it has died twice on me, and I actually replaced it earlier in the year, which is very strange. Has anyone else noticed any issues with the ML-ACR kit, or similar issues? I must have some phantom draw from somewhere, but I can't figure out what -- everything should be behind an ignition switch except the powertray+switch-pro, and everything on the powertray is off or disconnected. Does the 8100 pull power all the time?

you'll need to do a parasitic battery draw test, and test each fuse to determine it's source. anything over 50miliamps is considered a parasitic draw.

I suspected as much. It appears that my starter battery is not good, after doing a quick test with a meter. Currently, I have everything disconnected aside from the ML-ACR and winch, and I'll see how it does. On the plus side, everything seems to charge appropriately, so at least I can assume its a parasitic draw somewhere.

I just finished installing the trays and ran wires for the OGE kit. I am wondering the best place to attach a ground on the passenger side. The OGE kit uses the two bolt holes on the passenger side and I already have the battery installed so I really don't want to pull everything back out. Any suggestions for getting a solid ground?

Make a longer to run directly to the frame? And or direct to motor and one to body panel
