    Hey, Y'all!
So I've got a 2014 DCSB sport, sitting on toytec coil-overs w/ 650# springs. I just replaced my UCA's to JBA so I don't think the problem lays there. Every time I hit a hard bump in the road, or pothole (for any hard down motion, specifically in my front right tire) it sounds like a very hard thud when the tire hits the ground again. The toytecs are old, so I'm hoping once I can afford new Fox coil-overs, it will solve the problem, but just looking for more input. Any other idea's where the problem is? or is that just how blown out shocks feel like?

attached photo is my current set-up

Have you checked the pressure in the shocks? Is there any sign of leaks? What do you have for bump stops?

Note: you need a special device to measure shock pressure. You cannot use a tire gauge! If you don't have the device, find a shop that does.

@badger No I have not! So signs of leaks that I have seen, they are just very seized up from improper maintenance.

I have the exact same noise. same truck, same year, and stock suspension. Current theory is loose break caliper or radiator mount supports based on other folks posts on this, just haven't had time to look at either.

I don't think its the radiator mount, I got into an accident 7 months ago and needed the radiator replaced. It happened before and after the
work. The brake caliper is a decent idea!

I have the same truck with the same noise. Made it before and after I went from stock shocks to 5100's on the first notch. Put some @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc bumps on and it pretty much went away.

In your picture, at the shock mount: is it me being blind or is there a bolt missing that holds the shock in place?

You are correct. I tried bringing it to a shop to get them un-siezed, and they couldn't get them, and broke that bolt. Only has 2

That is driver side. The problem lies more so on the passenger side. Taking bumps/potholes on driver side feels/sounds better. I think due to the fact that battery, gas tank, and myself (250lb) are on that side

If they are adjusted for lift it could just be the rebound of the coil slamming the shock open again . Mine did this until I backed off on the lift adjustment a little bit , you could have them re valved to slow the rebound to help with this .

Even still, I would get that fixed so you can bolt it on all three mounting points. If you go hard on a trail one day you might damage the other two or even possibly the coil bucket

How would you recommend getting that fixed?

Is the broken bolt stuck inside the coilover? You can drill it out, they make drill kits specifically for broken bolt removal

Oh yeah you can get that out no problem. I'm surprised the shop didn't try, shops deal with that sort of thing all the time. Look up 'broken bolt removal' or 'broken bolt extractors' on google and there are tons of good videos on how to do it
