OFFICIAL XB LED HEADLIGHTS THREAD 16+

I don't know their side of the story or how to run a business so I won't assume anything. I just want clarification.

 

I’m pretty sure their side of the story is that they had x number of fog light sets to give away to the first x number of orders. They ran out so if you didn’t get them, you don’t get them!

In your case, since it says something about them being on backorder and then it gives you an estimated ship date of a few months ago, that leads me to speculate that it’s possible that the system realized that they were sold out and put yours on an automatic “backorder” — plugging in a predefined date that was set the last time they went on backorder.

Interested to see if my theory is right!

 

We'll see. I will give them a call tomorrow. I will update.

 

I called them this morning and I was told that the back order date was wrong in their system and that they should be getting the fog lights back in stock today or tomorrow. Once they received the fog lights and check it into their system, they will then ship out both the fog lights and the headlights together. I was told that I would be getting the fog lights. I hope this clarification help out some members on here.

Did they happen to make it sound like if they get them today that they'll put them back on as part of the special?

Yeah, I was hung up on once. At the second prompt for a call back (where they state your phone number) you HAVE to hit 1 for a call back or you'll be disconnected.

 

Lesson learned after two attempts.

 

I got an answer this morning but honestly it's not a reliable answer anymore. I'm pretty sure @Tacoma1818 filled you in already.

I'd make certain that the product or application technique that you choose for this isn't going to harm the headlights or finish in any way. I think in certain wintry situations, ANY light is prone to freezing over or getting winter buildup on it, unfortunately.

 

I did. They said they have everything in stock at the warehouse. (I was told that they just recieved the amber fogs. )They also stated that they needed a few day to get organized, that was a bit concerning however. They did confirm that I would recieve the fogs with the assemblies, but they needed a few days to get the orders sorted out and shipped.

 

To anyone reading this and still considering the order... I'd recommend calling and ordering. Even though the website doesn't let you pair the fogs with the headlights, it seems you can call and choose white or yellow via phone.

Agreed for sure. I certainly don't want to apply a product that will damage the plastic lenses or cause any type of abrasion or hazing. Figured I post up and ask for any opinions/ideas. I've read of aftermarket heaters for LED lights, but couldn't find any types of products that would apply to this type of application.

You're definitely right with any light being able to accumulate snow/ice build up, but I was just driving in only flurries and the whole housing was covered in snow buildup. If I can do anything to prevent that again without damaging the housings, I'd like to.

 

Well, I'm tuned in for any suggestions too. I don't drive my tacoma much at all (21 months old with 5,500 miles) and especially in the snow... but if all goes according to plan, it'll be my winter vehicle someday (with a sweet RWD sports car for the nice weather) and this will matter to me then! HA HA HA!
