I want to build things in my backyard so badly to ride. I'll have to take a picture of the berm Leo has already gotten started for me.

Deciding to get into biking to help with my weight loss journey. Picking up a 2019 chisel comp later this week. Couldn’t decide between a mtn bike and a gravel grinder so figured a XC bike would be the best compromise.

oh also @InfernoChalupa or @BamaTaco56 or whoever else....after trying out my five tens yesterday, I say they are worth every penny. my feet never came off of my pedals as they usually do, they were super comfortable, and I hit a couple of roots with them and felt nothing....whereas Wes had to take a break for almost breaking a toe in his vans haha

 

hey on the Kona's, what's the AL/DL mean? I know yours is a DL

 

AL = Alloy/ Aluminum
DL = Deluxe (You get better overall components)
CR = Carbon

 

ahhhhh gotcha, I was pretty certain AL was aluminum but couldn't figure out the DL

 

so how does this differ from your DL? besides being a 29er

you thinking about dropping the big money on a bike now?

 

my thoughts change every single day, but the more I ride with Wes and the more I watch videos...I think I'm just gonna go ahead and get a full suspension when I buy.

I'm still trying to wait on tax season...but we will see how well that holds up.

 

Tax refund done right

 

I've never used a tax refund for "fun" so I'm going to for once. It should also really help me set a "budget" for the bike. Amy has approved that plan, too, especially since she's gotten her ring lol

 

So the DL does have some Carbon components such as the rocker arm for the rear suspension and its got a better rear shock. This years DL also has a step up on the fork as well from mine (its my shock with an updated damper) and I think some of the drivetrain components are slightly better too like the crankset is an SX vs the DL's NX. I can't find a solid side by side comparison, but those are just a few things I'm noticing.

Do it. Go rent one of their 153s and we can hit the Land Trust and do some techy downhill.

 

I've never had an issue doing what I want. In fact its gotten easier since I've been married. I do my best to pay for my hobbies with my hobbies though so I'm not constantly pulling from our general funds. When it comes to stuff that keeps me physically active, I have no problem dropping money on it. Better to spend money on a bike than triple bypass heart surgery when I'm 45.

 

So we ever setting up a ride????
