What's cool about the inferno color, is the orange/red shade changes based on the light (i.e. sun) if the sun is out, it look orange, if it's in the shade or dark has a more red shade to it, if its cloudy, it has a tomato red shade...

Yeah that's exactly what threw me off when I was just looking at a couple pics of em. Looks like two different colors in light and on shade. Kinda cool:D

Might get banned if someone sees this as "political" (it's not), anyway I had an interesting conversation with a couple yesterday.

On my wall here in my office, I have a wooden plaque with the EGA (eagle, globe, and anchor) and it says UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. From time to time it sparks up a pretty cool conversation with guests here; my best friend got it for me and surprised me with it as I keep my office pretty plain.

So yesterday this couple asked about my thoughts on the Navy seal that had taken pictures with a dead body? Along with that, how his commander was relieved, and the service member himself was looking at facing a court martial and some other crap?

The media had turned this whole thing completely against a service member and this couple was convinced basically that he was a bad guy :frusty:

Anyway I wasn't familiar at all with the story, and I'm to blame seeing as how I don't eve have time to really watch TV, much less the news.

So I go on to explain how it's so easy for the media, and those in power, to point at the finger at someone who's done something that, could be questioned morally, but that's it. To explain how we as service members, volunteer to do something that the majority of the population aren't willing to do themselves. That's really just the half of it.

I've met a few Navy seals myself while on tour and I have to say, I really look up to them, because it takes real dedication and commitment to earn that trident, and even then, most fail to ever able be called a Navy Seal.

The other half being the mental trauma one goes through when out in theater. Unless you experience for yourself, you'll never know how it feels to experience the guilt, the anger, the hatred, all these mixed emotions all at once that completely changes your entire perspective on life. Your mental health is never the same and people just don't understand that. I went on to explain my own personal guilt I put myself through; I couldn't and still don't sleep well at night. I remember becoming a complete hermit to everyone around me for many years...and only when I was around my fellow marines, did I feel the slightest bit "at home".

Even now, I don't have any real friends because of this, but I still wouldn't change it for the world.

It just bothered me so much though to meet these people, that were so quick to judge someone because of something they heard and saw without even trying to see things from another perspective.

I mean shit I couldn't even help but post about it.

    Anyway, just me rambling.

    Carry on.

This is the direct result of the social media driven society we live in today.

War is hell. No one ever complained about similar pics from wars past (way worse too, graphically anyways). People back then were taught to respect service men. Wish it were that way today. Look at the backlash that came from the military performances at the capitol this past July 4th. Same shit.

Takes a lot of self-control keeping from beating the shit out of someone in a certain situation; plenty of people in San Diego that hate marines and I've met quite a few of them.

I mean realistically, a lot of people live where they do because they were born there, and/or have family that keep them there.

That sucks. War sucks. I believe that most men and women that work in our armed forces are good people. It really REALLY bugs me that good people like you and the millions of others in the world have/had to participate in the things that war entails. I'll never know or understand that hell personally, but I can only imagine how going through war can change you.
