did you look at the pig tail you plugged in? maybe it was burned where its not making contact with the pins? I searched and this same resistor comes up multiple times.

Hey guys - Looking for some route suggestions from locals. @Twizted and I are planning a road trip to ID and MT sightseeing at the end of the month. Planning on coming in through Boise and taking 55 to 95 up to Coeur d'Alene and then 90 over to Missoula. I was also considering coming in through Pocatello and routing over to Boise, but didn't know if it would be worthwhile since our goal is really to check out up north. Thoughts? We're also not looking to do any off roading or winter camping this trip.

The McCall way is definitely beautiful but there may be a lot of snow by then. The highway from Boise to cda isn't that pretty but it's a bit quicker...

Yeah that's why I was thinking 55 because it appears to be the more scenic route. As long as the highway isn't closed or it isn't white out conditions, we're okay with the snow. We also aren't setting an agenda so if we need to reroute or sit out a day and enjoy the city I think we're okay with that.

How is the cell service in those areas? We're unfortunately on T-Mobile which appears to be hit and miss throughout the state but that could be typical of other carriers?

That's what I have, I think there was a few spots I lost service but I don't remember fully...I didn't really need it so didn't check often either.

That's great news! More concerned about signal in the off chance the weather shifts on us and we're forced to reroute. Always easier when you have service vs without, but we'll also have our ham radio just in case.

I went through Weiser area that way earlier in August and it was kind of sketchy through there with for cell service. McCall is real nice scenic route but probably limited service through there too.

We're definitely in for the drive and seeing the most of the state so we'll take our time and go the leisurely route. Since Boise to Coeur d'Alene is 7+hrs I assume we'll stop around a midpoint to wander around and was thinking Lewiston unless anyone has other suggestions? Obviously we could drive the 7 hours through, but we'll probably be stopping for photos, eating, shopping etc.. along the way so I'm not sure how much seat time we'll want once we're in the area.

Also, anyone have any breweries or distilleries they recommend checking out?

I think I've been all different ways throughout the years but it never gets old. I love it here and could drive for hours through Idaho, no doubt!!

depends what time you get through there Riggins has a couple places to eat, theres some place to take pics of the river up and down that area. The water isnt as high as it would be in the spring but still beautiful. Lewiston is a lot bigger but you'll find out it smells bad. They have a big paper processing plant by the river and depending on which way the wind blows you know its there. The locals are used to it and prob dont smell it. Still is a nice place though. Lots of places to eat there. Moscow up the road about half an hour is college town and has some breweries. We get a Double IPA from Moscow up here at a local bar and grill but I dont know the name, its really good. Also lots of places to eat at Moscow. Couer Da lene has some brewery's also. Tons of great places to eat. I can give you some recommendations depending on what you are looking for. Oh also casino at Lewiston and North before you get to Couer da lene.
