when im goin a slow speed and i turn the steering wheel and put the brakes on at the same time there is a strange tap/pop in the front...i have no clue what it is but i discovered it today when moving the truck around the yard. i have searched but cant find anything. please any info/input will be greatly appreciated:D. my only other option would be to take it to Toyota and see what they say but they will more than likely charge me for it:eek:

When I hold the break to put the truck in gear I will sometimes here the sound of a spring being unloaded quickly. Kind of a taping sound there. Is yours similar?

If I was going to guess, I would say it's just your brake pads. Mine are pretty loud, more of a thunk. I've got used to most of my "truck" noises, until a new one arises.:D

I have the same problem. It almost feels like a metallic pop? something springy? it only happens sometimes when i brake downhill. My brakes are very mushy and it almost feels like i have to press all the way

This truck is way quieter than my old 89 4Runner. That's why I had a loud stereo.....

Bingo, floating brake pads. My '07 did it particularily when moving from reverse to forward. My '10 does the exact same thing......nothing to worry about it and you won't notice it in a very short while.

It won't go away and it should do it no matter if you turn your wheels or not. It should also do it when stopping in reverse or drive. It's the floating brake pads that move either forward or reverse when you first apply the brakes.

I have a 05 dc v6 4wd. I had to change my pads while i was on vacation if FL. and a few days after i got home i heard some weird ticking and clicking mostly while turning left. the sound came from the right front. I took off the right front tire and found that the small codder pin, clip (OK I F UP THE SPELLING ON THAT ONE) that held in the pin to the pads as fallen off and the pin back out and was rubbing the side I went to the dealer bought a new codder pin and it as been fine since.

    my spelling sucks.
