    From my extensive reading, yes.

Here’s another pot stirring potential complaint.... he started with a dongle. Then went to a tactrix cable. Now he’s venturing off to handhelds. Now when will he get enough users wanting the handhelds to have wireless internet for over the air tune upgrades? Then once that product line develops and runs its course, imagine him skipping all the way to when Tacoma’s come stock with wireless internet and you click a button inside the truck to swap out tunes :)

Keep in mind it’s the same thing auto manufacturers do between major upgrades. They throw in a tiny improvement or two rather than giving you all the eggs at once so that you keep coming back for more purchases. Granted I’m not saying OVTune developers are doing it this way for profit margin increase over time but it’s not unheard of and is a good business strategy.

It didn’t go from dongles to tactrix. The tactrix was always there, that’s what you plug into the truck.

it went from dongle to dongless (reg files).

Sorry was just making a generic statement of the growth from what it was to what it is now and potentially what it may be in the future. My package is in the mail so I’m obviously very inexperienced compared to many here. But I see the growth from an outsiders view is all I was trying to get across.

I was trying to find info on this prior to purchasing OVT without any luck. Thankfully due to the cyber monday deals, I picked up a dedicated Win10 notebook for cheaper that I can get the license alone from my local best buy...plus no hassle of getting bootcamp or a VM set up.

I wasn't able to get parallel to work with OVTune for whatever reason virtual wasn't able to recognize the USB. Used bootcamp and OVTune worked flawlessly.

Probably an issue with which system (macos vs the virtual machine) the USB device was assigned to... My parallels offered an option of which system to attach the usb device to when I plugged it in... Picked the VM and it worked without issue.

Edit: YMMV... I'm a software developer so tech is kind of my thing.

I finally ordered a flash kit last night. So the cheapest of cheap windows 10 laptops run this software just fine? Might need to order one of those tonight.

I don't see why not. For a notebook with less RAM and lower CPU speeds, I'd just avoid having any other programs open, and no multitasking when running the flash manager.

Our kit / options have changed to try to make it easier for you guys.
We don't charge for software upgrades. You only buy the initial hardware ( flash kit or handheld ) and from there you don't have to buy anything else.

Honestly 9 out of 10 people who buy our flash kit need no additional help at all after order.

Americans are definitely not known for their reading comprehension... unfortunately. I followed the directions and everything went perfectly!

I purchased this weekend. It seems pretty straight forward and I had zero questions after watching video. Rest also seems quite simple as long as I select the appropriate tune.

By the way, during purchase I still had it in the back of my mind that customer service would be quite slow and therefore expected such. On the contrary for those looking to purchase. I ordered the kit over thanksgiving weekend, sent registration info this morning, got registration key matter of hours later. I honestly thought would be even slower due to holidays and possibly extra orders and questions through Black Friday deals. Will post my full review later once installed and tested over several tanks.

Hey guys. Running the latest beta on 2.0. Yesterday morning and this morning had a strange thing happen. Yesterday it was mid 30s and today it was 40. Pulling out of my street after truck running for 10 seconds the truck stalled much like a carbureted engine would on a cold morning. It coughed a bit and then picked up and stumbled around for a few seconds and was fine ever since. Any thoughts?

I have been running the 2.0 beta tune for some time, and I think its great. One thing I have had, and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this, is when I use the adaptive cruise and the speed is set between 50-55 mph, the throttle pulses. I can feel the truck lightly pulsing, and when I watch the current mpg graph, I can see it pulsing as well. If the cruise control is set higher at around 70-80, there is no pulsing.

I don't know if its tune related, so I haven't sent it to @OVTune. I remember him saying that the adaptive cruise is not affected or changed by the tune.

    Just putting it out there.

Adaptive Cruise does not function with the tune, aka reverts back to stock tuning as I understand it when in use. So those pulses are related to stock factory tuning.

All is well. Got the 19800 2.0 tune to take finally with no Christmas dash. Am I to understand there is a new 2.0 tune coming shortly already?
