I was looking at pictures from last season and was wondering, do y’all think these are the same two deer from last year? The first one, last year was a double split brow tine 11 pt, this year a 9 pt. They look similar to me. The second one is an 8 that I shot with a bow in September.

The first one, his main beam on his left side has that little hook and the second one has them short brow tines.

Thank you Bob! I know it looks like I gut shot him, but he was quartered away pretty hard. I was actually aiming for his right armpit. The whole front left shoulder was blown to bits and that 480 grain bullet scrambled his vitals pretty good.

A blood trail even Ray Charles could follow! The blood trail was that thick for about 70-80 yards. I think he bled everything out in that time!

I probably won't ever kill another one of this caliber, so this one is my buck of a lifetime!

Funny thing is, I've been hunting this place for about 6 or 7 years now and have only seen spikes, some forks and some basket rack bucks. Still to this day, I wonder where this big giant came from!

'm mainly a meat hunter, so I'll just shoot the first big nanny doe I see and call it a day. 7 or 8 does will last my family of 5, until the next hunting season comes around. Rinse and repeat!

I have 3 tascos and they are the main cameras I put in public land along with a stealthcam I got on sale for like 15$ at academy that won't keep the date and time after a year. They don't take good pics but I haven't had one stolen and if I do it is like 40 bucks lost including batteries and SD card. The pics are also good enough for me to tell what it is, but the exposure changes if I do picture bursts for some reason. One of them crapped out after only a year but the other two are still running.
    First picture looks like this:00000028.jpg

Second and third look like this:
    00000029.jpg

It does well at night though in my opinion
    00000285.jpg

And I'll throw in my own pic of a hawk for fun. Wonder how many have pics like this?

Public land so it is anyone's guess but I talked with a USFS guy in charge of the national Forest and he said he would know if one like that was killed and he hasn't heard anything. I had pictures of him 5-10 different nights last year on a mock scrape but all an hour after shooting light. Stopped getting pictures of him when a dozer came through over winter break and passes about a foot in front of the tree my cam was on cutting a fire road.:annoyed: I need to get back to figure out where he is this year, he always came from the same direction in pics I had of him and that is a hell of a deer for public land in Mississippi.

I'll try to find pics of the dozer

Been using Browning Command Ops Pros for last 2 years. Battery life is excellent. Attached is a typical night Trail Mode pic. Also has Time Lapse and Video Mode.
