Just wanted to share my experience with them in case you are thinking about purchasing or to see if others have had an unfortunate experience with them.

Made my first purchase of some wheels on sale a week ago. Completed the transaction and got to the "congratulations, just sit back and relax and we'll send you an email " page. Well I didn't get an email.

So I contacted them and they said oh your sale price was a glitch. Unfortunately xx is your price. Ever seen a business charge you more after a completed transaction? Well.. We discussed and were about to negotiate an agreement

Then I get a tracking order. Great! It says shipment received... In the wrong state. So I contact them and they said sure we'll investigate. Don't hear back from them.

So I call icon. And they said it's on backorder for another month. I was like thanks for at least giving me some kind of information!

I kindly gave AutoAnything an update. They said we know. We were gonna update you when we have a tracking number in January. I said you knew, and you didn't want to update the transaction page or let me know? Esp after charging?

Yes we were gonna update you... In January. Take from this experience what you may. At least I wasn't impressed by them.

Edit ::: thanks to @eccracer104 for helping me work things out. Would recommend reaching out to this brother if you have issues. Thanks tw for tagging him

Sucks, but they have been a great place to buy stuff. I have purchased multiple things from them for my Tacoma and my father has purchase MANY things for his Tacoma and two Tundras over the years. This is from weather-tech to toneau covers, quick good price and willing to negotiate on price as well. They have been great from my perspective.

This is not normal for AutoAnything. My experience with them has always been phenomenal.

Tagging @eccracer104 like everyone else because he knows how to take care of TW members.

I also will NOT purchase anything from Autoanything either. They sell items they dont phsically have. They know at the time of purchase your item is on backorder and dont tell you. Waited for 2 months for an intake pipe. Never got it.

    Bad business practice.

I do know there was an issue with pricing on Icon wheels for a day, for what it's worth my input was "we made the mistake and need to own it", but I'm a small fish so that didn't hold weight. However from what I heard - I didn't get the full details - was that it was worked out and the customers would be well taken care of so I let it be.

The wheels do ship directly from Icon, so it's possible someone had fat fingers and updated the incorrect PO with the tracking which we then update and in turn you received the incorrect tracking information.

I don't feel anyone here "knew the mistake" and just "didn't tell you", we have thousands of orders per day and someone knowing the details to just yours and not telling you would be incredibly unlikely, however very likely is there were notes made on your order and when you contacted us someone was able to see the note and relay the information unaware that you hadn't been contacted. As to why an update didn't go out - that I'm not sure, it could have been queued in the system for a back order update, but honestly I'm not familiar enough with how those systems work.

I've had this in my first post to my thread since day 1 - I'm not a customer service rep - regrettably I don't have all the tools to perform the customer service duties, but I am happy to offer and provide as much help as I can when things go sideways!
One thing I can't do is expedite Icon. We are a drop ship company and if Icon is out of the wheel then we're kinda stuck :( it sucks but we don't have the ability to inventory and keep on hand all the products we offer.

I do my best to be honest and helpful to the forum. I know what's written above isn't sunshine and hugs but it's the truth and hopefully that helps. Also, please feel free to shoot me a message when something goes awry as i'd be happy to be the first step in getting something corrected :)

I'm sorry you feel this way, but that is correct. We are a drop ship company and do not have the ability to warehouse all the products we offer.

This is completely untrue - and if someone is promoting/selling items on back order I'd like to personally relay this information to their supervisor to have them held responsible. That's not cool.

I do feel if you were working with someone directly and they informed you it was in stock when it wasn't, it wasn't intentional. Computers glitch, inventory feeds can be wrong, and stuff can sell out where it may have said 10 in stock and someone before you had bought all 10.

If you're done with us as a company over this, I understand, but if you're ever willing to give us another shot shoot me a message and give me the opportunity to help you. I'm not saying this to make my company money, I try to discount all the margin out for the forum, I'm saying this because I really feel we can deliver the best service out there.

Hopefully it was just an isolated incident then.

Thanks for the response tworld, and thanks for the reassurance @eccracer104. Hope things work out

    Agreed, hopefully an isolated incident.

Please do feel free to message me with your order information, I can always reach out to Icon and ask for updates. I'm probably not as fast as just calling the customer service line, buuuuut I can send beer emojis so that's cool right? Haha.

OMG, I'm feeling me some TW love right now.

Then again, maybe the roast beef I had for lunch went bad. Not sure. We'll see "what happens."

Anyhoo... to all! I love it when TW comes together!

Dude, pretty much every business sells stuff they don't have... until they have an order. Let me list a few... Amazon, Toyota, GM, Home Depot... i can go on.

When I had a Corolla I purchased a dashmat from them. The dashmat did not have the cutout for the passenger airbag when I received it. I even confirmed with customer service before hand if I was purchasing the correct model. When I tried to return it, they charged me a restocking fee and told me it was my fault for not purchasing the correct model.
