Out of curiosity, how'd they get all banged up?

 

I had discount tire take them off when they installed my new wheels and tires so I’m assuming they had to bang on them to get them off

 

Oof. Those guys. I ordered 5 tires the other day and when I showed up they had 4 and was like oh, you ordered 5? Had to wait another week for a spare.

I'm really tempted, but my financial advisor will say no. I just dropped $500 on UCAs. GLWS

It's typical to have to knock them to get them off. Even with a thin coat of antisieze on mine they still were a little stuck. Mine have some dings like that to get them off it's not a big deal.

 

Yeah I was just curious. Beaten or dropped, doesn't matter as long as they are still structurally sound (which they are). I just couldn't figure out how you'd dent it with a wheel on top of it, but that makes a lot more sense.

Just a heads up for anyone that plans on running these long-term. The reason they get stuck on the hub and consequently beat up when trying to remove them is due to the corrosion caused by the dissimilar metals (aluminum vs. the cast steel of the hub). A little dab of anti-seize on the outer and inner hub rings will help prevent that.
