Aha, I see. I was wondering what you'd be using a snowblower for during the summer. I had a weird mental image of you blowing lawn clippings into your neighbor's yard

My old MTD isn’t far off. I was going to look at Harbor Freight engines. I don’t want to invest a lot because the rest of the machine is pretty tired.
That thing is slick as shit! How hard is it to swap the attachments?

2 bolts. Takes 2 minutes. Tons of other attachments... but, I just have the mower.
Id like to add some power, maybe up to 10hp. But, kinda hard to justify putting major money into something that old.
COULD tear it down, and rebuild.... but, I already have a project going...
And gratuitous shot of my youngest heathen, that was supposed to be "helping"....of which we got some... interesting news last night...and of course, my wife is bragging all over the internet...

I think we only ended up with about 6-8 inches, but it blew around a lot so it's hard to tell.

Is it still on the original Tecumseh?

Tecumseh made such a great engine. I hate how they took them out of most snowblowers and replaced them with a lot of overseas knock off B&S engines. Tecumseh's were torquey as hell.

If it's a single shaft motor, the Harbor Freight 'Predator' motors (which are a Chinese copy of a Honda design) are generally a bolt-in replacement for a Tecumseh.

Yeah, as long as you topped off the oil every time you used them.

I had a 7hp Tecumseh in the old Toro snowblower that we used at our last house, and it lived by the "fill the oil & check the gas" policy.

Weird. I never have to add oil to mine. I have a 90s snapper chassis with a 8hp Tecumseh and it never needs anything besides an oil change, plugs and clean the car occasionally.

Lotta talk of snowblowers.. I got one that I am probably going to sell if anyone is interested. I'm probably done with snowblowing, I just have someone plow the driveway and don't want this to sit outside (no garage unfortunately). It's a nice, somewhat older but very good Ariens, well maintained, perfect working order. It's got heated hand grips and a headlight, all metal chute. I'll get better pics if anyone is interested. I'll also find out the model number. Threw snow yesterday over my house, had to be 100 feet. Powerful sumbitch.

Mine is pretty old and tired, I wasn't really 'looking' but this might make sense for me to replace the old MTD. Thing was used and abused when I got it, it's been doing pretty well sense with some small maintenance but it's going to need some fairly major work in the coming couple years.
