Greeting from New Jersey. Just bought myself a 2007 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Offroad with Tow package yesterday. I traded in a 05 Chevy Trailblazer. It's my first Toyota. I loved the TB, but I was getting tired of the poor build quality biting me in the ass (been to the shop 4 times in the past 2 months). The door panels rattled constantly, the dashboard made a buzzing sound, the weather-stripping was coming off, and the check engine light came on a few days ago. I took a hit on the trade in, but I'm hoping I'll have much better luck with the Tacoma

Thanks, I do feel guilty...lol I grew up in a family of GM lovers. But of course I rather buy the best car for the money.

Dude, its your hard earned money and you have finally made a decision in your best interest that will serve you well for years and still pay you back on resale value. Cheers :plane:

Welcome to TW, Don't feel to bad about trading in a Chevy for a Toyota. The NUMMI plant in California is a joint venture between Toyota and GM and that is where you truck was built!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the welcomes. I belonged to a Traiblazer forum similiar to this. It was a lot more busy, but maybe that's becasue people in general were having a lot more problems with their Chevy's than us with our Toyotas....lol. Anyway I'm happy to be here, looking forward to chatting with you all.

American vehicles are not reliable long term that's why every 6 to seven months they have a new vehicle in the lot. japanese vehicles have a high standard so the next time you see a new vehicle of toyota it's about 5 to 7 years. they are designed and built for your benefit save money and to protect their reputation. i know i grew up in the toyota brand.

I agree on the Jimmy. My parents had one and it was the most unreliable rig they ever owned.

    linkfeeney,

I bought mine from Lawrenceville Toyota, I think I got a good deal overall. The truck stickered at 30,179, and I paid 28,253. They also took they gave me $15k for my Trailblazer. The staff there seemed pretty good. They had the most Tacoma's on the lot, and were willing to negotiate. Check out Edmunds.com I got the truck around invoice. My truck is Silver with Doublecab, 4x4, TRD Offroad, 6 disc CD player, and Tow package. Not sure where you're at, but if you're in NJ, Toyoata of Lawrenceville is worth checking out. Located near Trenton.
