Does God exist? The lack of evidence is not evidence.
If people aren't allowed to create threads for problems, then no one ever realizes there's problems, and you get to replace your own frame due to rust...
A few data points does not an average make.
Your post suggests that every time someone makes a thread, we ignore it because it's not statistically relavent. If there's 10 thousand threads, each one is essentially zero, so there's no problem unless all 10k people post in the same thread?

I have an 05 Tundra 4.0 with this same leak. It has 150k miles and leaks decent amount of oil on the engine crossmember and floor.

You’re stuck on that because you are so fixated on your own issues. When did I say no one should be allowed to post problems? And you are contradicting yourself. You think just because you post this or that issue everyone has the same issue.

Your right. People are allowed to post. And people are allowed to ridicule others for posting. See post #383. Further, people are allowed to point that out :)

You didn't say that people aren't allowed to post their opinions, simply that their opinions don't matter. That's the crux of my issue.

Still can't find where I contradict myself though. I feel that people should post any and all issues they have so that others can make purchasing decisions, and multinational corporations can see people voting with their wallet and realize it's in their own interests not to jerk people around. I'm all about informed choice.

There is a TSB I think. The hole for the sensor is drilled too deep, there is a pinhole that allows enough oil to cover the sensor and come up to the exterior of the valve cover.

I’ve already explained it and you can’t or don’t want to understand it so there’s no point in continuing the discussion.

Good luck with your issues anyway...

    Update:

It’s been 4 months, yes months, since they kicked my truck back with half the work done for that visit. It’s been a phone call every few weeks telling me “they’re on it” and “we need to get this done”. They’ve been sitting on my wheels and tires that they swapped to “try something” for 5 months now (was in the shop for 37 days before they kicked it back to me incomplete).

Two weeks ago was last contact where they requested I send them photos of my license plate and VIN (no idea why?).

The saga continues, I bought the ticket, now I’m on the ride. Bizarre situation.

Really! I had a 2000 and thought they were past that. Glad I leased the 2020. You would think they would learn. This thread is depressing.

I assume you have a loaner? I would try another dealer.

It was really interesting how fast things started happening for me once I contacted a lawyer and let Ford know that I contacted one. Ended up getting resolved before lawyer got involved, and didn't want to get paid for consult. (PM me if anyone needs contact info for the PNW)

    But, Jesus OP, Jesus. GL

I may have to try this, I’m thinking about opening another case (4th) with Toyota and filing a dealer complaint with them also.

My lawyer sent out the lemon notice at the end of August so I’d think corporate would be aware of that by now.

wow I have been following along this whole time. This sucks, I hope they or lemon law process can get you straightened out. This whole scenario makes you wonder, was the truck wrecked and never reported while in dealer or factory possession, was it damaged in a hurricane, flood, or whatever and not reported, is this just a flat out bad day at the factory...bizarre. You have incredible calm and patience that I am certain, I would not.

    Thanks!

Yeah it’s been a trip, it makes you wonder what the deal is. I think the vehicle has its issues and then there’s the dealer issues. I’m curious if they replace it to see what’s different across the board regarding vehicle behavior. I test drove it at 5 miles ODO, brought it back that day with 15 miles on it for its first issue so hopefully my lawyer can get that usage fee real low.

The amount of time and money all parties are spending it’s like just swap it out Toyota!

Any and all manufactures have made entire models that stunk, as well as a screwed up lemon every so often (hence lemon laws). This just seems insane that you have had to go through so much to get it resolved (hopefully).

    Just to clarify:

I brought my truck in July 9th (this time), they dropped it off at my house August 14th “because we need our loaner back”. The work was incomplete, the work order was never closed and they “get it back in soon”.

So I’ve had my truck since August 14th and they’ve had my wheels and tires at their dealership since July 9th (They swapped them with sport wheels and tires to see if the brake shudder would go away, it did not and has only gotten worse).

They’ve dawdled for months, tried to tell me they can’t cover a loaner because they claim they have “had to eat the cost” of loaning me a vehicle the previous visits totaling 88 days (which is covered by my extended warranty), came up with excuse after excuse. Ordered a new windshield which I was never aware of, also a “we don’t know if the warranty covers it”. (I have a Toyota Corp additional warranty for glass cracks/chips/wheels/PDR).

Thanks for reminding me to call my lawyer and see how I should proceed before I call Toyota Corp!

It took 18 months and a court date for them (Subaru) to buy my forester back. Bastards.
Lots of rental car bills for them to pay; and lawyer & investigator fees too.
