I recall reading somewhere that after California, Florida has the highest population of Canadian ex-pats. Basically Canadians are largely responsible for the two states all other Americans find annoying.

Serious security flaw gets brought up, 4-5 useful posts, and 6 pages of shitposting. Gotta love the 3rd gen forum.

The infiltration began so long ago that it’s very hard to spot. A good way to know who you are dealing with is to see if the call Aunt Jemima “Maple Syrup” or simply “Syrup”.

Would you prefer an in-depth analysis of radio frequency pirating techniques? Maybe a debate on which tinfoil blocks the key frequency best?

let’s face facts man......I’m surprised there was even 5 things worth discussing here. It’s all kinda summed up in the first post, unless you’re one of those guys whose gonna lawyer-up etc.

This is pretty old news, the first reported case I could find via google is from 2008.. it seems it is only "news" to Toyota owners. If you are really worried there are very easy steps to secure your vehicle which all have been discussed in this thread. For me the pros outweigh the cons.

This isnt limited to Toyotas, and its not new. Proof of concepts of this sort of attack being carried out in a grocery store have been around a bit. Im in the cyber industry and cars in general are a really hot target space at the moment as the technology advanced a ton with no real thought given to security. Its why Im not crazy about pushbutton start or keyless entry, convenient though they are
