I posted this somewhere else but thought I'd share here because I LOVE these tires!!! 35x10.5 r17 Kenda Klevers. You can find really good prices on them and they're my favorite all around offroad/street tire that I've ever run. The narrower size definitely makes them easier to fit as well. No rubbing with about 2.5" lift, icon tube UCAs and no sway bar. Wheels specs are TRD 4runner.

Pics show where I had to cut/weld/hammer.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)

If you get JBA or spc you will have an easier time yes. But you also have to take into account the backspace of your wheels, and this is only for driving. Not wheeling right?

Well, I would like to wheel some, but I live in Florida, so you can take that as dirt roads and beaches, maybe the occasional mud puddle. I fully intend on getting a mid-travel kit, but that won't be till I move to Colorado next year...where I will need it anyway.

^^ I’m really curious how leveled on 35s turned out. I know the talk around here is that a lift doesn’t provide more tire clearance when it comes to off-road and cycling of the suspension, so why shouldn't someone be able to fit 35s leveled so long as they’ve properly cut/trimmed/cmc/cab mount relocate, pinch weld and adjusted caster as high as possible to move the wheel forward?

Soooo.... It rubs VERY bad offroad. I basically couldnt turn my wheel a half-turn or more if I was going over anything the size of a speed bump. I have a very deep BMC and i was rubbing my fenders/ cab on the back. I am planning on just getting a UCA and 4" lift strut spacer, for now, then Ill do new coil overs in the front in a few months after I move. I will say though, in a straight line the truck is basically unstoppable now.

I'll have to check, they are 15s though. I got the basically brand new wheels and tires for $500 from a buddy who has a shop. I have to run 2.5" spacers to clear the caliper though, so not ideal. I will be selling these and my stocks shortly to get proper wheels and tires for it.

Thought you were on 5.29? Anyways 5.29 is the 4.88 nowadays. Auto on 33s with 5.29 REM here. Zero regrets! Contemplating 35s these days.

You're rubbing problems will be minimized with proper wheel fitment, and a uca will not help with the rubbing.

Now that I have 5.29 for about a month or so...I don’t think it’s crazy to go 5.29 even with EVERYTHING stock on 3rd gen Tacomas. Just the weight of 33s pushed me to get 5.29 but even with stock tires, stock lift, no armors, i still think 5.29 is not unreasonable. Nowadays every time i see loaded up 3rd Gens, i tell myself... I know for sure that guy is not enjoying the driving experience.

Yeah, I know what wheel fitment will do a ton for me. Also though, I am doing the UCA with a 4" strut spacer lift for now. I intend on getting new coil overs next summer sometime.

Yep. You just have to watch for sales. That’s what I did. I think it was a 25% off sale. Still a lot of money. No my smartest purchase but they work really well.
