I keep getting bogus excuses for non-delivery...

"We attempted to deliver your package at 4:29 pm on December 3, 2019 in PLACER COUNTY, JEFFERSON but could not access the delivery location. We will redeliver on the next business day."

I was home, and there's absolutely no reason for my property to be not accessible to USPS; they're just not even coming here to try anymore.

 

I get the same shit all the time. I actually have less packages delivered on time than I have packages showing up late. I’ve called Amazon time and time again and I now have delivery instructions on what exactly to do. It’s nothing complicated, simply call me if you can’t find my front door (which shouldn’t be hard to do in the first place). They still find a way to mess up the delivery.

 

I've gotten one or two of those as well. It's so frustrating seeing the status as "delivered to resident" and know that no one came to the door...only for your shit to show up the next day.

I get it's hard to be in the delivery biz and successful enough to feed the fam but....

 

I can only imagine running that delivery business. It must be brutal. Imagine finding and retaining employees who are actually honest and WANT TO WORK. Specially when Amazon is getting everyone in to habit of expecting their stuff same day.

 

I'll never expect same day where I live, but when they "guarantee" a delivery date, I expect it on that date.

I'm sure they are "trying" to, but it is a holiday season. So, they are busy.
I was just saying that when I was growing up it took days, if not weeks, for a hand written letter to reach it's destination. Even in my line of work people wanted their stuff yesterday. Companies like Amazon are promising same day delivery is insane. Either there is a demand for that kinda stuff or they are trying to get ahead of the curve.
I don't know WTF I'm talking about Rob...I'm tired. I need a fucking drink in my life right about now.

 

I’ve got in way too many arguments with them over the guaranteed delivery date I got over 6 months added to my membership last year due to six separate instances

 

I usually only have an issue if I needed it that quick. Or it's over 2 days late. I have gotten an extra month or two as well.

 

What’s funny is most of the times I’ve had an issue is when I order something and don’t need it for two weeks. Anytime I’ve ordered something last minute it always shows up. Anytime I order something for a trip coming up always shows up late. I’ve had to have items shipped to my destination twice now lol

 

Amazon should give a $5 credit if they dont hit their "guaranteed delivery date" like ebay does

 

Shit I’ve gotten zero extra months. But I try to keep my complaining to a minimum unless it’s something I actually need ASAP. If not, it is what it is

 

DHL sent me an email message saying they were going to deliver a package to me the day after Thanksgiving. I wasn't going to be there, and as there was an option to schedule an alternate date, I selected Monday the 2nd. A signature was required. On Monday I checked the tracking info for confirmation. It said anytime before 8 pm. 8 pm came and went. No package. I was home all day. Today I tried calling. After three attempts, and being dropped from the call by their auto menu, I finally got a human. It'll be here today between 2 and 8 pm. So, I'm asking her, if my package was to be delivered the day after Thanksgiving, but I rescheduled for Monday, and it didn't arrive until Tuesday how the hell was it going to get to my house the day after Thanksgiving? Crazy.

 

Over the years they've added multiple months to my Prime membership; easily over 12 months in total.
But most recently they actually refunded the entire $119 fee, after repeated issues with Amazon Logistics. Honestly, I'd rather just get the service I'm passing for, instead of constant excuses and refunds/credits.

 

I can't discuss those things here.

If you're a prime member, they will extend your prime membership by a month if they miss the delivery window (if you request it). The 'promotional credit' is something they've been pushing more lately. Will say this, most of those those contract drivers do work hard - would not want that gig.

 

What did you end up going with?

 

Stage 3 Deavers.

Paid for them a week ago, and they apparently still haven't been shipped out. Was hoping to swap them over this week...

 

Did they have them in stock? Mine took a little while to ship as well, but worth the wait.

 

I ordered them through another (common) vendor around here.
I'm just not wanting to have to put on the warranty Dakar for a week or so, just to turn around and put the Deavers on shortly after.
Since I'm about to sell my daily (possibly today), and my replacement daily hasn't been transferred to this state yet (so it's currently uninsured), I may just have to drive on the broken leaf pack...

 

I delivered packages for a third party company that was contracted by Amazon and I must say I could choose the packages I didn’t want to deliver. Say if you lived in a High rise apartment building and I had to access a gate and a lobby door and access an elevator you would be getting a firm no from me. I am in no way lazy but I am a realist and I know if you want an amazon package and you live in a place like that you should choose to have it delivered to an amazon locker. I also delivered to the Berkeley hills/Kensington area often and had no problems walking up driveways and a lot of stairs to access your front door.
