trying to get an egress window permit. The window is fine but the outside window well needs to be made deeper by 19" which is 12" under the lowest point of the corrugated window well (picture below). If I keep digging, what options do I have to extend this down? There must be something I can do that doesn't involve tearing the entire thing out and buying another one.

 

Mid as well just do it right while you’re already digging down. It’s one of those things that seems almost easier to do it correct before force fitting something.

 

The window well already exists. I'm just making the window taller to comply with code for an egress window. I'm trying to avoid digging up my back yard

 

I get that, don’t you have to dig down deeper though? Or did I misread it?

 

it's a 5' hole already. I'm just digging a little deeper. If I replace the window well, I'll likely need to break some of the concrete above to get the thing out.

 

Just get another section of window well and overlap that onto the existing well, Then throw in a few self tappers to keep it in place.

 

that's what I was hoping for. I just email the manufacturer hoping to get some matching material.
