I agree on Ammo’s pricing but I genuinely believe Larry is a stand up guy and actually knows what he is talking about when it comes to detailing. Again he is pushing his brand, image, etc. Will I buy Ammo products, probably not. Going to bash him for marketing, nope cause we all gotta eat.

Not really bashing, just saying be careful who you listen to and whose products you buy. Of course Larry will push AMMO and say nothing but positive things about their products and that's why you have to watch out. Look at unbiased reviews and buy from a place like Detailed Image, Autogeek, or Detailersdomain.

Remember Opti-Coat? I've been to a few SEMA shows and actually met the owner Dr. Ghoudasi (sp?). Not a bad guy but, man talking with someone who every two seconds says "use Optimum clay bar only", "use Optimum soap only" gets old REAL quick. Can't even have a real conversation with these people because they're so damn focused on just pushing their products. And when they pissed off alot of installers and customers by lying their coating was "permanent" and would last the life of the vehicle, they quickly changed their warranties to 5 years haha. Take everything you hear from an owner of a company pushing his own product with a grain of salt, that's all I am saying.

    But, but synergy!

Looking at a solution for a handful of headlights I want to do and keep running across Opti-Lens. They say it lasts forever, fucking forever, really?

Talk about fan boys, ONR users might rival anything AMMO, DPC and every other niche product combined.

Opti-Lens is crap. Don't do jack. Used it on several sets of lights and was extremely disappointed.

To be honest, the ONLY thing to keep your lenses from yellowing again (assuming that's the issue), is PPF (paint protection film) or having a body shop re-clear the lenses with real 2-part clear. You can even do this yourself if you have any experience painting, just get some Spraymax 2k clear.

Half our business is PPF, so that's the route I went on all our cars. Easy to do and easy to replace when the film start to age. Typically get 5+ years out of it, maybe more or less depending on the amount of sun exposure.

Yeah that's the same conclusion I came up with. The wipe on wipe off is tempting but the fact that they say "forever" is enough to not even give it a try.

Seems like you'd have to garage keep to get 5 years out of it.

Going to have fanboys of any group. At least Optimum, Ammo, etc make products that are well received. With that said everyone is trying to make sales and promote products. Now DPC on the other hand is a whole different story.

I have used a lot of different products, I have the whole ammo line, most of optimum's stuff, a lot of stuff from griots garage. They each have products that I think are better in certain areas. For Ammo, hydrate is his best product. For optimum I really like gloss coat, and also using ferrex (iron decon) and their clay towel at the same time is a quick way to do both decon steps in one. Griots garage has a nice interior cleaner and their compounds/polishes are my favorite.

Sad the DPC stuff isn't what it's caked up to be. I have tried spray/wipe on ceramics that aren't like "true" coatings and tbh nothing beats the real deal. If you are going to spend all that time to do it, may as well do it right. I have used QP-ON 2.0 before which is a ceramic that you mix with water then spray into an applicator. It works good, but I feel stuff sticks to the paint too much like a wax/sealant, vs a true ceramic which actually keeps my vehicle cleaner a little bit longer.

I mailed everything back today with tracking number. PayPal says once it's been delivered to DPC aka floors & stuff in Minnesota, I will get my money back. So I should know by Friday. Yes DPC and luxury microfiber are sub companies of a place called floors and stuff in Minnesota, not dallas tx as you'd expect from all of Scott's talk.
Can't wait for this to be behind me and have my money back.

PayPal has sided with me because DPC never responded to the dispute. My money is being returned and this is finally over with.

Saw this pop up in my Youtube feed, always enjoyed this guy's content. Check out just before the 5 minute mark where he brings up DPC Shield.

Currently trying out the CQuartz Lite myself, applied about a month ago to the Tacoma. Purposely used only one coat to test it out, beading has been amazing as in the video. I mainly applied to paint and the bottle still looks nearly full, it's barely below the top of the label they put on the 150ml bottle.

    UPDATE!

So earlier I mentioned in this thread that I wasn't having issues with DPC Shield, strike that! Bottle is crystalized after being stored in my house for 4 months.
Contacted DPC and was told you opened it so refund. I'm DONE with people not standing behind their products..must be a (middle age) snowflake thing. Thankfully
it has not done weird things to the appearance of the paint like it has with a few other folks.

It was only a matter of time. Some received crystallized bottles from day 1 and some people it took opening it to start the process. DPC and scott are a joke. As far as I am concerned he is a scammer who used his YouTube popularity to swindle people out of money. He will get what's coming to him, trust me, and it is coming, I know that for sure. He claims its normal to crystallize and the user did something wrong, that's bullshit, we all store it as per instructions. He also says his products are cheap enough that even if you use half, you're still getting a deal. That is so asinine, we pay for products to use it all. His claims are unfounded, I know 2 people who have had both opened and unopened carpro cquartz in this hot garage for over a year and neither have a single crystal formed and can still be applied.

Also just for reference to how big of a joke this is, after I ceramic coated my truck with gloss coat I couldn't find the plug for the syringe. So I just threw the tube in the box with the applicator tip still on it. It has been many months now (atleast 4, but I cannot remember for certain) and the product in the tip turned crystal as it should, but inside the syringe is still normal. Not sure if it's still actually good in there as it has not been in a controlled environment (in the garage which gets very hot and cold depending on outside temps.

Another example I have some QP-ON 2.0 and 3.0. The 2.0 is extremely concentrated ceramic which you dilute 20:1 with water, some residue has formed in the bottle, but maybe .5% at most, product is still good. Pretty sure any product with si02 will start to slowly cure especially after being opened. I have used this bottle around 6-8 months ago and it's been sitting in my house, so controlled temps and product is no where near to fully crystallizing in the bottle.

I'm looking at the 2.0 and the 3.0 myself as well as CQuartz. Agreed, the product was fu*ked to begin with if you can call it a product.

They are good, but I feel they lack a bit of anti static that other products provide. I think powerlock had better self cleaning properties when new, and gloss coat blows it out the water. But it does last a good while. I haven't used the 3.0 topper yet so that may help things also. If you do get their 2.1 soap it is really good. I rarely use soap now but I do like that one.

@Murphinator You are referring to the Optimum Gloss-Coat, correct?
