I honestly think it was because of the soft sand right there. I had no other issues throughout the day except for another soft patch

Uhh, no. Rack and pinion blew a seal. Consulting with Brian to install new one. We couldn't think of anyone else this happened to. Not sure when it happened as I drove all the way down south to Brewton towing a trailer and all kinds of other stuff after Stony Lonesome. New R&P is in but getting some other items that are necessary for the job. Thank goodness for a good thread on Tacoma World.

A truck with 4 cylinder, no low geared transfer case with weight on it going up a hill, will bog

if this is what your shifter looks like being in "Drive" and being in "L" is the exact same thing as long as your truck isn't trying to shift out of 1st in "D"

Where I use to live I set a salt block out every year and even after it all melted away they would come and dig a hole where it was. There was 8 deer that would come right before dark everyday. After a couple years they would even come out if I was mowing the yard. I use to get them at Tractor supply.

What Trey said. You can’t control it shifting if you stay in D. L forces it to stay in first.

He is 5.29s and was in L. I would’ve never thought it would bog like it was.

That transfer case makes a big difference, so does 6 cylinder

Maybe so. I just never would’ve guessed it lol. I just know some don’t know to get out of D. So I was simply asking

I know how to get out of D lol. I also know to turn traction control off and that Santa is a fictional character that lives in all our hearts.

Yeah shifting to low helps but adding the low gears of a transfer case makes a huge difference. When I had the 95 Tacoma with the 4 cylinder it was like a different truck when I would shift to low 4WD.

He didn't attempt it, was afraid his longbed would get hung up.

All the big bucks go nocturnal during hunting season. It's instinctual almost, they hear that first gun shot and they don't come out during the day anymore, unless they are rutting.

Your truck was awesome at Stony, love your set up!

Good lookin' tree! Which reminds me, I need to start wrapping some gifts...

I air down to 20. I'm gonna try 18 this time, see how low I can go before it blows a bead. I got ether!

Jeff do you think adding the additional weight of a 4 x 4 conversion would be very beneficial for me having the 4lo?
