Morning SATX! It's TRIPLE beautiful today!
Gorgeous, not a cloud in sky, and I am gonna do some simple truck stuff!
Had our meeting with the City, and settled the "charges due" for the fact they didn't bill the solar correctly. Going to cost, but we're ahead overall.
AND, my CHOSEN Medicare plans are finally going in place at Medicare - I beat the mighty TRS system and got their "choice for me" removed!
Other than the sleep study #2 tonight, could not be a better day!

Since I am monitoring my weight anyway, I discovered I did really well, and it's gone. But, pizza last night might take a day.

New to Texas have been here about a year. Moving to SA area from Del Rio in mid December. Planning on a 2 to 4 week trip along the Gulf Coast to New Orleans and possibly on to Florida.

Been beach camping from Corpus Christie, N. Padre down to Brownsville, Boca Chica.

Any suggestions on sights to see and places to camp greatly appreciated.

Lots of natural springs in Florida.

Louisiana has some cool spots of I10 between Lafayette & Baton Rouge.
    I'd skip New Orleans personally.
Kisatchie Nat Forest is in north part of state.
    -Lots of history there.
Go down to Point Aux Chenes and do some kayak fishing.
    A must is boudin.
-Billys in Scott (exit 97 of I10) or
-Billys in Krotz Springs (Hwy 190).
    -@DiamondW can confirm.

Thanks for the info. I am from out west with lots of public land to explore. It's a bit more challenging here. GF wants NO Xmas trip.

Yea good luck finding public land to play on here it's either fenced or private but of you head north west of San Antonio there's quite a bit of county roads that are dirt

Sadly there's almost no public land in Texas. Your best bet is hopping from state park to state park. The state parks are really nice, though.

    Afternoon SATX! Beautiful afternoon! Got to mess around a little bit with the vehicles;
used my new little OBDII tool to get the P0492 code on the MIL light on the Kia, and clear it. Now I can see how long it takes to come back. Kia will fix it, but I am not having me and the wife drive with a stupid warning like that on all the time "because it's just minor!"
Got a new sunshade for LBR, and chopped it to fix - stylish light gold color!
Took out the old camera and temped up the new ROAV front and back cams so that I can try them out on the SA trip Saturday.

Hope anyone not in an office got outside today!

No real time or distance limits. I find we are always arriving late cuase we leave late LOL. I have TX state parks pass and have done most to the west and along the Rio Grande. I'll be exploring the ones around SA now that I will be in that area soon. I've done recon on a few between Del Rio and SA. This time of year you have them almost to your self. My rig isn't set up with on board power yet though I do have portable gen but state parks all have elect/water so gen isn't really needed 95% of the time. Plug in an electric blanket and can really be comfy in the tent in pretty cold wx.

Probably will get a LA parks pass on the trip.

I'd like to explore Cajun swamp country and see some plantations. I saw some houseboat rentals that might be a fun option for a few nights. Want to explore beaches east of Houston and small Texas towns with character worth seeing. If we go on to FL beaches will be a must too. I was in Mobile for a long weekend once and got a quick look at the suger sand beaches.

I've been to NO and done the main burbon street tourist trap. Gotta drink a lot of drinks to get really pissed since there so watered down. Will of course go there but goal is to see more of real NO.
