I believe the max recommended for these tires is a 9" wheel. I went with these tires because I had them on my sema wheels so they were new. I might switch them up if I keep the truck tho.

I like the little stretch tho

The best part is no center caps. It’s the simplicity of the wheel that makes a lot of us like it

I'm definitely listening, but we have to do what makes business sense. Some folks will understand and some won't agree. We're the ones that have to deal with all the risk so we have to do what we know works. There's a reason why there aren't many narrow tire choice selections as well. The fact is that this group is very minute compared to those after the wide/big footprint. Narrow wheels would probably sell at a 15:1 ratio if I had to guess. We can't afford to stock up on wheels just to have them sit in our warehouse taking space.

Any idea where to get the front dust caps? my truck didn't have them. Then I'll just paint the rear.

So what your saying is that a lot more people who buy your wheels (that are specifically made for the Tacoma) want their tires stretched rather than fitting them right in the middle of the manufacturers recommended range of most common size tires that people are putting on their trucks? I don't buy it! I think people buy those size wheels because that's all that is really offered. I haven't bought your wheels not because I don't like the look (I really like the way they look!) but rather I don't like the fitment. Like I said before I'm not into stretching my tires and I'm not into wheels poking out either. Maybe it's just me!

    For the record;

BFG KO2's (I'm only using one brand but check the brand your going to userecommended size wheels for these popular size Tacoma size tires are

    265/70/17 - 7" to 8.5"

    285/70/17 - 7.5" to 9"

    255/75/17 - 6.5" to 8.5"

    265/65/17 - 7.5" to 9.5"

    265/75/16 - 7" to 8"

    285/75/16 - 7.5" to 9"

    255/85/16 - 6.5" to 8" (ST Maxx. No KO2's available)

All specs per Tire Racks website

All I'm saying is an 8" wide wheel would fit all these size tire correctly.

    Flame away

What are you honesty bitching about? Lmfao. Jesus Christ.

16x8 -12 (very common SCS wheel size) isn’t stretching a wheel nor does it give much poke.

I 100% think it’s because people won’t buy those sizes. I see 17” (and 18”) wheels EVERYWHERE because these Instagram clowns want to show off their wheels and don’t care about extra sidewall that actually make an off-road setup ideal.

Also, please remember SCS is Bay Area, CA. Think any of the people in that area are “true” off-roaders. Hell no, they’re a bunch of hipsters (No disrespect to Vin or Vuth, I’ve met them and they’re the exact opposite and a pleasure to work with FYI). The market they HAVE to cater to in order to survive or thrive in this shitty California economy demands those sizes.

Lol. I guess it just bothers me when something that is made for function is sold for design 1st. I guess I'll stick with my FJ wheels that have the right width and backspace in a 17" size.

I feel like your bitching is because you don’t use a 35” tire. I’m guessing 33” or below, which to me, your excuse for complaining is so damn ironic because if we are talking pure function, a 16” is what You SHOULD be using for max sidewall on a Tacoma.

That’s what Ray10 I use and it’s more “functional” than your 17” wheel lol.

If you were a 1st or 2nd gen on a 15” wheel and were complaining I’d understand, but a 17”? Lmfao, come on bro ahaha

No i want to go to a 34". 285/75/17. My wheels will work out perfectly but other wheels look better. And it's not just SCS, almost all other wheel companies do the same thing.

Ooo 34 lmfao. Dude you’re missing my point entirely - you’re whining about “function over looks” and trying to pick a 17” wheel lol when a 16x8 + 285/75/16 gives you more sidewall height AND width. Also a lighter tire (And wheel) compared to 285/75/17. Shit, 315/75/16 is almost as light as a lot of 285/75/17. I run 16x8 285s because 17s made absolutely no sense function wise in any category over them lol. Looks? Yes, slightly bigger tire/wheel. When I go 315 I’ll still stick to 16x8 to save weight on each corner. Ya know, function > looks ;)

If you’re perturbed they won’t make a wheel you like fine, but don’t bring up the function > looks discussion when you want 17s on 34s lol.
