huh, so much for the staff at the local HF store helping me to find what i need for my project

 

It’s Harbor Freight. That all cost probably $20 and it comes with a free tape measure.

 

Retail will hire anyone. Just because they are an employee of a certain store doesn’t mean they’re knowledgeable in the application of certain products.

Why not just get a junkyard tank and swap in. Problem solved

junkyard tanks here have holes punched in them i was told and are probably in just as bad shape
and a ton of work to swap a tank out on that car, have to replace all fuel lines most likely
removing rear seats, door don't open in the back
its a beater! worth $50

i am going to try a JB Weld patch when i get around to it with warm weather

I'm going to need to match the width of the LT front and I don't want to stick with the twig grade 8" axle tube and small center section. I hate the bearing setup on them and want full float. Diamond offers a centered LC 9.5 option with LC FF outers. That's what I'd like to do with the proper width

Get an used tank. They’re available. Not all junkyards poke holes in them. Hell that old should still have a drain plug
