Got the nut splitter. Hard to find time to do it though with a house that is in the middle of painting and a wife that doesn't know I bought a new suspension kit...

Did you check if splitter fits over all the bolts you need to undo? (to make sure there are no surprises)
Also new kit has own nuts, right? And you checked they are correct one (you can put them on new suspension). Its worth checking sometimes companies give wrong nuts in the kit.
Do you have impact gun? It will make your job spliting easier. If you dont have compressor Hitachi makes small impacts (electric) you just going to make sure you have right connectors

With Impact its going to be easier to hold nut splitter in position with one hand and use impact with other...

It's even better than that. I also bought brand new (Used for 2000km) Konig Rims for $400, she found them in the basement and I managed to swindle the idea that I bought those years ago for my second set of tires. (When I went to BFG AT from my Michelin.)

The new nuts fit on the suspension because they're currently on the newish shocks.

As for the nut splitter, it came in a 2 pack, so I can split nuts of all sizes. And I'm going to either use a ratchet or a breaker bar on this fucker.

I'm taking no prisoners.

That's awesome I do shit like that with my wife, but haven't done it for big items like that.

 

What makes you think we want her?

She won't believe that. She's an engineer, I do doubt her sanity though based on the fact that A) She's a redhead and B) She's with me.

I might be able to tell her though that I ramped the suspension up though so it sits higher or some bullshit like that.

 

I don't know how much she knows about vehicles, but you could just say you flipped the kanooter shackle to give it a more agressive appearance.

 

Tell her you cranked up the torsion bars. I know we don't have them but it is a plausible answer should she google it.

 

If you doing this by yourself I would strongly advice to find/get small impact, Its doable with ratchet but it is much much easier with impact. Left hand holds splitter over the nut so it does not slip, right hand holds impact on the splitter bolt, and finger pushes the button on impact until nut falls away. Then flip switch and back off the bolt on splitter.

Engineer or not, she is a woman and you are (probably) a man. Just tell her that you wanted and bought a new suspension, she does not need to be consulted in such matters.! Then tell her to go make all of us sammiches!

 

I was in a completely different section of the forum and heard somebody post "sammiches".........
