Not every cat is the same...

When this little dude gets cold, he yells at me until I put him in one of his christmas sweaters. If I don't, he'll steal my phone charger or earbuds and dunk them in his water dish because he's an ass hole.

He can wriggle out whenever he wants. But that's usually not until he has a patch of sunlight to lay in the next day.

    Friends and fellow cat lovers,
My 87-year-old Korean war Marine veteran neighbor that lives alone still hasn't found his 3-year-old adopted cat, after about 2 months.

Would anyone have any ideas on a way to find him a replacement? He told me it cost him $150 at the shelter, which I can't afford at the moment.

Chance, I would like to thank you again for your offer to pay for an adopted cat for my neighbor Richard.

After talking to my sister about Richard's missing adopted cat, she offered to pay any adoption cost, knowing the family as a youngster, she would be happy to do so.

Check other shelters and rescue organizations. $150 for an adoption seems really high. Where's your location?

Massachusetts... some rescues are they high, but they are usually private organization rescues. Its treated like a business. They just passed the law here, that no pet store can carry breeder puppies, if they want to sell dogs... they need to be rescues. So these groups go and adopt say ten dogs / animals and then put them up for sale. Typically that is a the 85 dollar adoption fee and then the rest the organization gets to keep.

That sucks. We paid $45 to adopt Bella last Christmas Eve in Riverside, CA. We drove an hour to go get her. That included her chip.

That's if you go to the actual shelter, before 2nd hand business gets involved. What the 2nd hand business typically offers is... they know more about the animal and its behavior for the most part. Not good with kids or other dogs, etc... can offer more of a insight on a suitable home for Fluffy.

Massachusetts, My sister knows of a shelter that she adopted a cat from, they only shelter cats. I agree $150 seemed high, but that included neutering and all shots.

i paid $120 for the first one and $100 for the second one. Included shots and neutering but it also went towards the foster parent who helped nurse it and kept its box clean and as we know that stuff isnt cheap. Money well spent for me. Is a small organization that does a lotr locally for cats and a great company to do business with.
