People who post legitimate mechanical issues are not the problem on this site. It’s the ones who complain about non telescoping steering wheels that actually telescope, banging their shins getting in and out, uncomfortable seats that don’t adjust, their radios don’t sound as good as their Lexus’ system, etc, etc, that’s what I’m talking about.

But the ones that really bug me are the ones who bitch about how their trannies don’t shift the way they want and insist that “they all do it”...

And thats another thing, for every negative post you read from some enraged buyer, there are probably one hundred happy buyers you’ll never hear from, yet those enraged dudes will insist the trucks are all pieces of shit.

edited to add that if your truck has legitimate problems I feel for you and hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction, but that doesn’t mean they all have the same problems.

Very true. 1/10 happy customers leave a review. 9/10 upset customers leave a review.

I was on the old school ford ranger forum before. None of this shit was going on, very little bitching, mostly just how to mod and fix things. There seemed to be a lot of younger kids tho, could tell from the way they talked, a lot of them were real dicks.

I posted when i installed my K and N intake and oooh boy, half of the forum started making fun of me and basically said im retarded.

Why a lot of tacoma owners expect lexus luxuries im not sure. A lot of them say "well i paid 40k for the truck and it doesnt even have dimming side mirrors" or some shit like that. A lot of new vehicles cost 35-40k so im not sure why some people are so surprised.

Its a tacoma, it never was luxurious or super quick, was just always well built and lasted a long time. I think they did great job with this tacoma.

I was on the Explorer Forum for years before the the Explorer became the number one Police Vehicle of choice. Not sure what it classifies as anymore! SUV or Stationwagon. Certainly not what I remember!

Anyway, I digress, the forum was there to help people and I don't remember anyone complaining about spilt milk! People moded there trucks and shared it. Here I think the community is still here. There is a good group of regular posters that have built in ignore for the negative that does happen. These are the people that are helpful and or make this forum enjoyable.

This thing is a truck and I use it to do truck things....I've had a few trucks by other manufacturers over the years and none of them ever came close to the fuel mileage I get with this Taco. It takes me to and from work every day and romps in the woods and mud holes on the week end. It pulls a 6.5 x 16' tandem axle trailer with 2 ATV's, beer, fuel etc.. It even takes the wife and I to get groceries once a week. No major complaints here.

Good to hear that you happy with MPGs. Most guys here will disagree with you. Personally im very happy with my MPGs, i get advertised or better, so pretty amazing for 4600 pound 4x4 truck with AT tires.

Glad you enjoying your truck man!

Despite all the things I'm told here that I should hate I still have not found any major gripes in the 5 months of ownership. Viva el Taco!

Most of the time I'm in the 22's to 24's (sometimes dipping into the 25's) when I'm not towing. This Taco exceeded my expectations in the mileage regard. Once you adjust to how the accelerator does its' thing, it's not so bad.

Thanks bro the pupper loves going hiking/camping with me which is also when the Taco truly shines. But holy shit does he shed like crazy and cover the entire inside in a literal coat of hair. The price we pay amirite?
