    Dear Abby,

I have been seriously toying with selling my Taco...personally, I'd prefer to keep it and have a "quick" toy too. However, Sergeant Sweetheart (aka wife) isn't keen on us being a 3 car household with only 2 drivers. But, since leaving my last position as a GSM of a car dealership I lost the fringe benefits of having sports cars to my disposal too. In the past, I have always had a truck or an SUV, mainly for the utility and practicality a truck has around the house. The wife has a Grand Cherokee so the SUV box is checked for what that is worth. Sooooo I have been considering an new-ish Audi S6 or S7. Still, practical with a 5-year-old climbing in and out, AWD and are quick enough to scratch that itch but, damn I'd sure miss smashing around in the Taco. I might be kidding myself about how often I use a truck bed...maybe more than I think.
Not sure what to do I guess, 1st world problems I feel blessed to have...
Maybe a newer Taco is in order...still no 0-60 love there though. :anonymous:
I'd trade in the wife but then I wouldn't be able to afford a bus ticket...

Lower your level of newness across the board, and 3 can cost less than 2.

For years we had an '04 Highlander, '98 Sonoma and a '96 Miata. Newish people hauler/road tripper, local utility duty, SCCA fun, daily driver and occasional mountain road screamer.

Even insurance for all 3 was less than many folks with 2 higher end newbies.

European cars are fun to drive - steering/suspension right up there, but many are cash pits. I've never owned an Audi, but on a euro forum I drop in on from time to time, I hear enough to make me glad I don't own one.

Since it's obvious you have economical issues to deal with - I would avoid the cash pit.

Buy a Toyota or Honda in lieu of the cash pit.

I bought a Porsche Cayman S. Mentioned it to my wife didn’t get a hard no, maybe she thought I was just thinking about it. She came home and it was in the driveway. She was pissed off for probably 8 months but has gotten over it because she sees that I won’t budge. It’s a 2007 that I got for $23k. I drove my truck through flood water a few months back and insurance totaled it, gave me $30k for a 2014 4x4 short bed. I bought it back for $9k and once dried out it’s fine. I got her a 2016 TRD Trail 4 runner. We both win.

I'm going to be a smart-ass here. Did you lose your job as a GSM because you couldn't close enough deals? You need to sell your idea to the wife.
