    I've never seen anyone total those two numbers, in fact I'm almost 100% sure you aren't supposed to since one directly influences change on the other

    Good to know, I wasn't aware of that. Yeah the short trims are usually around 0 - 3 and the LTFT never go higher than 7. So all in all I'm close to 10 total

    The way I had understood it was the LTFT were the averages of your fuel trims long term, so I thought it was it's own number apart from the immediate or short term trims.

    I'm not constantly monitoring them, only when I hook up the Torque app/OBDII plug in.

    Basically the ECU uses LTFT keep the STFT short and tight.

    Yes. But it started clogging stuff up. It was base bumping under my seat. As soon as I stopped adding it and ran sea foam, it stopped. I don’t think that stuff is good. Using metal to increase octane like lead or magnesium is not good. Keeping a healthy fuel system and injectors clean does it.

    Gumout octane booster. It allowed a little more lugging. But F that. I’m revvin and happy.

    I don't think the Gumout brand is one of the ones that really does anything to the octane, at least not without using several of them. If you google good octane boosters, you can find some legit ones you order online. The only one I've seen recommended that you can buy at most gas stations is the STP brand one, it has high reviews.

    So just a guess. Reading the MSDS that Octane booster has Naptha. It is mainly used as a fuel and a solvent, but also an octane booster but not a very good one. It’s probably only really effective for low octane gas to. It happens to have a boiling point of about 200 degrees while gasoline’s boiling point is 395. My guess is that it was getting hot and creating vapor lock in your system which is basically when it begins to boil in the fuel pump.

    Fuel is circulated through your system with a return line. It goes right through the rails on the heads and goes back to hit the pump. It gets hot.

    You could also Inject directly from the 7th injection port too, EGR locations,

    or buy a “cheap” throttle body spacer and tap it for the nozzle. I might do this but you also need a solenoid for it because a check valve will siphon under vacuum.
