And how does this improve your happiness? Do you think the other driver cares you flipped them off. I used to be like that but have since changed my ways.

The problem is NOT the axle seal any longer; My mechanic replaced the drums/dust shields today and I verified that the rear brakes are fine, with not grease/oil. My truck stops fine and does not make any weird noises aside from the aforementioned squeak.

What's weird is that my truck does not seem to do this when I first start it up. It only squeaks when I've been driving it for a while, and even then generally only when I brake from speeds above 30 MPH.

I repeat again, the axle seal is NO LONGER the problem. It took them two times (the second of which they had to pay for because their tech screwed up the first time), but the dealer actually fixed the rear axle seal problem. It is beginning to appear that this squeak is a separate problem and the blown axle seal/damaged wheel bearing issue was just a coincidence. The dealer has given me a new axle seal and wheel bearing for free. When the squeak came back, the dealer had their head mechanic take everything apart and grease some parts, which worked for almost a week but now it's back. What do I do?!?!

    Deal with it.

    Old cars some times squeak.

Lube up rub points. Rear springs and front springs.

Make sure the rear springs aren't rubbing on the rubbber brackets at the front and back of the springs. Smack it eith a big hammer if they are.

    Check you u joints.

Post a video of the noise.

    Turn the stereo to 11

    Important notes:
    • Front brakes (pads and rotors) are basically new with a little over 3,000 miles on them.
    • Front calipers were replaced in March 2018 and have less than 28K miles on them.
    • Rear brakes (shoes and linings) are brand new with less than 1,000 miles on them.
    • Drums/dust shields are less than a day old as of this posting (The replacement ones the dealer used rusted in three weeks).
    • Left rear axle seal has been replaced.
    • Left rear wheel bearing has been replaced.
    • Dealer performed a several hundred dollars worth of work on the house, on the subsequent visit, because they screwed it up the first time.
    • On the third visit, the rear axle was taken apart and greased/lubed by the dealer, again free of charge.
    • The truck brakes just fine and gives no sign of issues other than the squeak!

I have just always prided myself on taking great care of my truck and am very OCD about maintenance. It is obvious that my truck is perfectly safe to drive, but the squeak is both disconcerting and annoying. With the window rolled up, the squeak cannot be heard inside the truck.

I've got a Pioneer head unit, JBL component speaker system fed by a Rockford Fosgate external amp, and an 8" Kicker powered subwoofer. 11-12 on the volume right where that extra "oomph" from the subwoofer kicks in, LOL.

My mechanic replaced my blower fan/squirrel cage with an $80 TYC (I think that's the brand) unit. He did not charge me labor! While inspecting the old unit, he found that the bearing was going bad.

The good news is that my heater is now more powerful than it's been in a few years. The bad news is that the distinctive noise it makes seems to have come back...

Just cause it squeaks doesn't mean it's in bad shape or you take poor care of it... sometimes things just want to do what they want to do, especially metal on metal.

I had a squeak that gave me fits.

it was the top nut on the rear shock. It was loose which allowed the dust cover to spin and sing like a cricket I only found it because one day it was really loud

i pulled over and slid under my truck and started juggling things and rocking the truck from underneath.

    good luck b

Did you just tighten the nut yourself? Also, what's weird is that the brake only "sings" when I've been driving for a while. If the truck has been sitting overnight, for example, it will not make noise when I initially start driving.

Takes time for the fluids to warm up. Power steering and brake fluid have 2 lines... cold and hot levels.
