I am asking because I have them posted elsewhere and taking heat on my price. I had one person offer 80.00!! I have them listed for 275 which I thought was fair as they are brand new. I paid more then that for them. What should I be asking? Am I out of line with the price? Or are these people full of shit?

Your selling price can only be what the potential buyer is willing to pay.

You can ask $275 for them all day long, but if the potential buyers are only willing to pay $80, then $80 is the going price.

It's funny, because sellers think they set the price of things. In reality, it is the buyer who sets the price!

You can ask what you want for them. You wont catch shit on your price on this site. Its against the rules.

A lowball offer is different from saying a product isn't worth the asking price, imho.

    Good luck

Thing is I can't find a for sale thread here for trd pro lights. I just don't want to be over pricing them. I want to be fair. (I know weird right?) I don't need them hanging around and they should go to someone who will use them. Appreciate the insight

Thanks! The pro tail lights are different. I saw a set of normal ones for 150.00 which to me is about par. I'll keep digging

I'm sure...lol. I have them now posted in the classifieds here with reasonable people. :) Well semi reasonable.....lol We do spend a good bit of cash on these damn trucks...that is where I have to reason with myself as to why I am spending the cash.

    Are they OEM or aftermarket?

Problem is, "replacement" tail lights are available for $100 each, and they're exact replicas of the factory tail lights. I replaced the headlights and tail lights on my sons Silverado several years ago with Depot replacement assemblies, and the Depot assemblies were actually of better quality than the originals. Unless you're obsessed with having OEM stuff on the truck, there are less expensive alternatives to OEM, and you'd be hard pressed to tell they were aftermarket from even 2 feet away.

They are factory. The things I have seen with aftermarket is moisture in the lights over time. I am not saying that they aren't good and you are right, sometimes the quality is better. Lets face it...its still made in China. Lol

The question that you need to ask yourself, is DOES ANYBODY CARE if they're "different"? Most people trying to buy tail lights are going to be doing so because they smashed one, not because they want something that looks more pretty. That means that your pool of potential buyers is immediately reduced to VERY VERY small. You need to find that ONE person who wants exactly what you have.

$275 seems like a lot of money for a set of tail lights to me. Especially since you can buy a set of generic aftermarket tail lights on Amazon for under $100CDN. What do you actually get for over three times the price?

Do you see what you're up against here? Toyota can sell them for a crazy price because they have exposure. You don't.

I hope you get a fair price for them.
    Good luck.
