I know. This is the East and the North, so we're screwed both ways. We don't know shit about beef. They don't even use a knife to slice pit beef here. They use a meat slicer, WTF, as if it were a delicatessen. o_O

:D maybe we'll all follow you to the great state of Texas! :boink:

No, I'm serious! I want to follow you to Texas! I had some Blacks BBQ dino ribs and homemade jalapeno sausage recently. I've never had anything so good. It was gift a sent to me from one of my Texas brothers.

I wish I knew why brisket isn't that popular here. Now that its winter and I don't have to deal with the bugs it's grilling season for me. I bought a bunch of seasoning from our guys at Pitfaced BBQ and trust me, I will be enjoying some brisket!

    Have a safe trip! :jellydance:

I respect that MD has their own style of smoking beef and I love horseradish so I’ve been on a pit beef kick. Do prefer brisket and I have to say that the best I’ve had here is Misson BBQ which isn’t best by any means.

Yeah, I grew up eating Tulkoff's horseradish. It's hard to find now. The processing plant was in Canton on Highland Avenue south of O'Donnell Street. You could smell it miles away.

    https://tulkoff-food-products.myshopify.com/pages/about-us

You'd think all horseradish was created equal but it's not.

It's a must on a pit beef sandwich!

Ok, I reread your post. Duh. You meant it has been 6 years since the last trip home.

Well damn then! That's a long time to be away. I'm happy for ya that you will be there for the Holidays! When I was younger was a way a lot and missed out on a lot of things. Sure, I knew what was going on but it's the same as experiencing it first hand.

Shame you have to come right back..........play a lotto ticket while you're there. :fingerscrossed:

My buddy up on the mountain has a "Big Green Egg" smoker, that thing is bad ass. He always slow cooks us something for dinner after a day of riding the trails.

I personally have the Green Mountain Grills Daniel Boone Wifi model, and it has consistently put out great meat for me. I love that it regulates temperature itself without me having to worry about it since I am rarely home for 12 hours straight to tend to a pork butt or brisket.

I am constantly amazed by those ceramic smokers (like the big green egg) though. You can put some lump charcoal in with a couple pieces of wood for smoke and that thing will run for a VERY long time on just that small bit of fuel. Depending on the brand though, pricey. But they do last a long time.

Yea his wasn't cheap. He'll put a pork butt on in the morning and slow cook it all day while we're out riding. Its delicious, specially with a cold beer. A few of the Maryland TW guys on this thread have been over his place with me to shoot, eat & BS around the firepit. Always a great time.

    Hahaha, sorta.
Last time I took vacation... decided to stay. Came back here, tied up loose ends, and moved back.
Work slowed way down, got an offer up here, and here I am. Been back 3.5 years. In another 1.5, I can make a change, and maybe move back.
But, also on the table is south eastern virginia, and northeast North Carolina....

And... I just realized I am in a Maryland thread.....
