Oh shoot, didn't even realize that. My bad. I know I came across a shortbed one not too long ago. let me see if I can find where it was. I think it might have been in Tennessee though but it was cheap.

The one posted above is a 2nd gen but to answer your question that's correct. 1st gen beds are a little skinnier

 

1st gen, 2nd gen, and 3rd gen will all have different shells.
The one I posted should be perfect for you and is also in your color I think.
Plus it already has a tacomaworld.com sticker on it so you got that going for ya haha.

Did some digging and found out that shell was a tacomaworld members that sold it to someone else. Message this guy to see if he still has the phone number of the guy he sold it to or his TW screen name bc he mentioned it was sold at a TW price so the guy might be on here too.

That's how I found my camper shell. Happened upon an ad saying he was selling his truck and had a shell, truck was sold but camper was not. Got it color matched for $150 about 40 minutes down the road.

 

Small world, I work at Sugarloaf Corporate Center right there. We manage those office buildings next to Chick-fil-a.

 

Smart thinking. I've started messaging private owners selling their trucks w/shells to see if they'd sell the shells separate.

 

haha, saw the TW sticker and saw the listing was for a month ago on CL so I went to the Southeast forum and the SC thread to that time trying to find if someone posted it for sale there to get a screen name. Guess I got lucky finding the original owner though. I have a lot of free time on a computer at work haha.
