you have to pry open those mounting tabs when installing the wider BILSTEIN shock eyelet goes the same on the rear shocks got to pry open the tabs to accommodate the thicker shock eyelet, someone went too caveman and cracked the mount

I would agree with that diagnosis especially since it looks like it has been that way for a while. Judging by the rust, that split has been like that for a while.

Or trim the bushings. I butchered my icons to get them to fit.

definetly, u you also need a little butter or margarine to help slip the BILSTEIN eyelets into the mounts along with light prying

Point A impacted point B forcing it outward when suspension was compressed beyond designed limits.

Just my internet opinion. Not arguing with the "if anything goes wrong, its has to be under warranty" folks.

I’m with the folks saying installer fault, not mfg defect. The simple fact that the truck has had shocks replaced twice already, probably a hammer or pry bar caused this failure.
Edit: and that’s not an alignment tab. Lol

There is no where near that much rotation going on there.

    Good sleuthing though.

I used an adjustable wrench to help pry the tabs open and used dish wash soap to get mine in [IMG]

The only way that can happen is if everything falls off the truck.

    Nope.

The coilover mount portion maybe, but the LCA? Full nope.

I think he's being cheap, that's what I think. Sounds like a crappy shop.

this alone will result in the Dealer telling you no way Jose' to warranty. Good news is LCA can be replaced pretty easy. Bad news is it will be on your nickel. Bummer - I'd have a conversation with the shop that did the install on your front aftermarket suspension. Probably find another shop to do the fix unless they want to do some cost sharing. ??

The only reason I take it to them is because I know they’ll come through. If I go tomorrow they’ll make it up to me one way or another.
