TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Hopefully you just got the one rotten tech working on your truck. Some college kid that's pissed off at his dad and thinks he has an axe to grind. I had that experience with a dirt bike shop. Had had nothing but solid work out of them, then on one occasion, garbage. Like bolts missing, work not done. Told the owner, and he fixed the problem and thanked me for bringing it up, cause he though he was having issues with this kid, and now it was confirmed.

 

That was my thinking too. No need to fuel the fire and potentially risk them making shit worse or fucking with my truck. They even said themselves that I came and paid for a job.. The job should have been done.

 

See, thats what I'm thinking too. Some guy, maybe new (he did say he's had trouble keeping good employees and they've been out a lot) probably hated working on my gross truck.. mad he got stuck with it vs the twin turbo 5.0 next to it. Lol

 

nothing beats removing a battery on a dodge stratus. truly reject engineering.

 

Truly reject engineering is totally right on the money! There is a reason those cars don't exist anymore.

How are you going to put a battery behind the wheel well and the fender liner is the barrier.

 

you just jack the car up, take the tire off, and get to the battery. simple right?!?

All those reject Dodge cars were designed by engineering interns, not actual engineers. Lol.

 

Does you know what amount of advantage the hood scoop intake provides? Would be nice to have a bit more passing power at high speeds (not that I NEED more, but you know what I mean).

 

its gotta be at least another 20 hp. seriously i think it would be worth while.

Anyone have a re-scaled MAF and the hood flow scoop? MAF numbers would show what the increase in flow is. Paging @JustDSM

 

I've used the over the radiator scoop connected to a stock airbox. I never did any hard-core analysis on airflow, but I'd not be surprised to see improvements especially with superchargers. If you already have a high-flow setup, the scoop isn't going to open things up a whole lot, more like a small incremental improvement.

Figured I'd ask you fine people..

But has anyone ever ran a Champion Radiator? If so, have you had issues with the cap leaking once it builds pressure? I'm running a dual core aluminum in my 86 pickup, and it's been great until just recently. It's been leaking from the cap and making a mess. I poked around a bit and found others having the same issue. Guess their caps aren't the greatest. Wondering what the best replacement would be.

 

maybe try a stock one?? or a japanese made similar? maybe a wrecking yard would have options.

 

Yeah im wishing I would have kept my old Radiator right now. I'd try the oem cap. I'll do some research.

Hey yall does Gates make an RPM series drive belt for our motor? Looking for the engine serp belt, not the s/c belt, but didnt see it on the pg 1

 

i changed mine. it may be a gates product. i just went to the local autoparts store.
