Okay, so there is a raging debate going on in the media about who should win the AL Cy Young Award this year.

Basically, the voters have fallen into 2 camps.

    CC Sabathia:
    20-7
    3.26 ERA
    2 Complete Games
    229.1 Innings Pitched
    189 Strikeouts
    72 Walks

    Felix Hernandez:
    12-12
    2.31 ERA
    6 Complete Games
    241.2 Innings Pitched
    227 Strikeouts
    68 Walks

The crux of the argument hinges on this:

Felix Hernandez has been arguably the best pitcher in every standard and advanced statistic except WINS. Should Sabathia win the AL Cy Young because he has 8 more wins than Hernandez, or should Felix win for better in all other categories, but just not having the win total?

    Who you got?

I'll see if I can get someone to put up a poll, too.

Felix... Because you can pitch a damn good game every 5 games, but have little to no offensive support from your lineup to help with your win/loss record.

Felix.. It is so damn frustrating as a Mariners fan :anonymous: to know that in order for Felix to get a win he has to pitch a damn near perfect game. I think you need to look much farther than his win loss ratio, I mean he is on a team that could not bat its way out of a wet paper bag. He is one if the few bright spots we have and I would love to see him get it this year, based off of his numbers I really think he should. I mean he lost his last start giving up one run and 2 hits. It's not his fault he is teamed with a bunch of offensively disfunctional morons.

In case nobody noticed, I agree.

For the record, in his 12 losses, Felix has given up 14 runs. 10 of them Earned Runs.

Displaced Mariners fan here, Felix would have won so many more games if he had ANY run support, hope he gets it.

There was a point where he had 10 losses and in that stretch the Mariners were able to give him a total of 10 runs in support of him. I think there was a 3 game stretch were they gave him nothing. :annoyed:

I'm pretty sure I could've won at least 6 games with the Yankees offense.

Joe Morgan is a damn idiot. I cannot stand that guy. How he continues to have a job as the #1 baseball analyst, for the #1 sports network in the country despite continuously spouting disinformation and nonsense is beyond me.

I love the site FireJoeMorgan.com, but, sadly, they don't write anymore.

As a Mariners fan, it's been awesome watching this guy grow since he was 19. Never afraid to throw any of his pitches anywhere in the count. IMO, nobody more deserving of the award. What a great moment for the guy. Props also to the great year CC and Price had.
