It has nothing to do with how many miles are on the truck. When you lifted the truck it changed the angles on the front CV joints causing that vibration. Like they said its the needle bearing, it was a very common thing with the 2nd gens too. Some trucks will end up having it others wont. Nothing is really wrong with the truck.

So, allegedly, getting this bushing from ecgs will alleviate the issue... does it replace the needle bearing? Ive maybe driven 50 miles with the lift, its hard to imagine its failed in that amount of time.

The needle bearing hasn't failed, the lift has just amplified the vibration from it since you changed the angles the cv joints were designed to run at from the factory. Some guys never change it and decide just to live with it. Yes that bushing will replaced the needle bearing and get rid of the vibration. There was a TSB on it for the 2nd gens but not for 3rd gens yet. If you search needle bearing you'll come across others and the fix with the ECGS bushing, lots of guys have replaced them.

Hey man I know this is an old thread, but I have the exact same set up as you. Just lifted it tonight. What lift kit did you use? And did it fix the problem?

OP was last seen on TacomaWorld in 2016 so you may not here from them. I feel pretty confident in saying that the ECGS bearing fixed their problem, I’m not sure if I’ve heard of it not working for up to 3” lifts.

I got the rough country 3 in spacer lift with the shocks, blocks in the back. It also comes with a dif drop. I haven’t driven it more then 15 miles yet. What are my chances on not having this problem? It’s a 2019 if that helps

Drive it and see. After my 3" lift I had the vibration right around 30-35 mph. The needle bearing replacement fixed it.

How much does that usually run labor wise? I had the dealership install this and they said I would be covered warranty wise. It’s only 6 months old.
