Yes, with what we are able to control. To get around the limitations we are testing where the ecu selects a completely different transmission map when cruise is active. It's the only way. So we are making a whole new set of tables for each gear when the cruise control flag is on in code

I wish that the parameter for the adaptive cruise can be changed from fast to normal. Such a pain in the ass.

Has anyone noticed their truck running super rich at start up. I know it is tuned to run rich for like 10 seconds at start up, but it was so bad tonight that it actually smelled rich in the truck when I started it and i have never had that issue before.

 

Like money coming out of the vents?

right now I don’t like how the transmission is with cruise control on. At lower speeds, the TC never locks while cruising. Tried on both versions of 2.0.

 

If the temperature outside was very cold it will do this. Rich enough to smell like raw gas if it's cold enough.

Good info I guess. It was probably 30 degrees. Just didn't think I had ever seen that before. Maybe the wind was blowing just right or something that made it seem a little worse.

I finally remembered to check this morning. Set cruise control to 40 mph and watched OBDFusion and torque converter remained unlocked.

 

Torque convert locking or not depends mainly on the gear you are in and speed, not just the speed

and when cruise control is active, throttle demand position via accelerator is 0%, so it rides the bottom ends of all the tables, so a majority of the time will not lock

 

Seems like your 2.0 shift logic makes a lot more use of the torque converter than Toyota's original code. Is there any risk of long term wear as a result, or is it still within design specs?

Don't get me wrong - I think the truck drives way better with 2.0's shift logic. Just want to make sure I'm not compromising longevity.

 

but why does it lock when not in CC? If it’s unlocked, I remove CC, it locks.

it always locked in every other version of the tune I’ve ran.
