For sure, I mean I don't use my tools as much as some do with their profession or working with them daily. If I did then it'd be a different story. But for a weekend warrior they suit me well, plus on most things if they fail you can return them. But if I needed to rely on tools like I do camera gear, I understand forking out the money on the bigger name brands.

Sometimes you have to treat yourself

I use my ratchets the most out of my collection of tools, with box wrenches being a close second. So I went to my tool guy I mentioned for these and a few others. I like being able to service them. I rebuilt the 1/4 and the 1/2 ones. Snapon was cool and sent me a replacement 80 tooth 3/8 and 1/2 as well when I asked for rebuild kits. How's that for service, ask for repair parts and get two new ratchets as well as repair parts :D

Absolutely. Plus you researched the things that actually are decent from there beforehand. Some of the stuff really is just fine for the home DIY. I remember laughing at a little electric chainsaw at a friend's. He had it for the small stuff, kindling, etc. He plugged it in and had me make a cut and sumbitch, if that thing didn't burn through that pine :rofl:pine is soft af, any saw better cut it lolll but I was surprised it was actually functional. :D

I'm really coming around to S-K for box wrenches. But for ratchets and screwdrivers I really like my snapon stuff.

Oh yeah at work we have lots of that. Pretty much everyone has Mitutoyo measuring equip and a good deal of Starrett for work precision stuff like edgefinders and punches and fixtures for measuring equip. Lots of Huot for drills. The real fanciness comes in the turning tools for lathes though.
