3.4L supercharger

It’s a deal I’m working on. It’s not ToyTec property. Let me see what I can do. I don’t want anyone destroying their engine over this. It’s nothing that I’m looking to make money off of. If I do get it, it must go to someone that knows and understands it in and out.

 

What’s in it? Any MMT?

I’m not familiar with the gens. It’s black and says TRD on top. So I think so.

Nice! I got the same EGR version (found some one selling them brand new) and just blocked off the EGR port since I don’t have EGR.

How was the install? I know it’s something I wouldn’t want to do again...

 

Anyone that has the supecharger support bracket installed take a pic for me? I need to see the bottom bolt area and what the step in the bracket clears. Also what else is near the step, belt...

 

I have a complete bracket that’s not installed. I can take some measurements if that’ll help.

i wonder if a TVS rotor pack could be made to fit the m62 with some creative machining.

 

I think TVS blowers have a pretty different output shape. If we wanted to do the whole supercharger thing right we'd scrap the roots design, a design that was never meant to generate pressure in the first place, and go for a lysholm. But again SCs are high cost of manufacture and even the most efficient lysholm (Whipple) can't stand up to even the lamest of China turbos haha.

 

As much as i like turbos, superchargers are nice, bolt it on and enjoy power. Alot more going on with a proper turbo setup, but will yield better results.

 

It can’t. The TVS rotors are much larger around. If you google it right you can find a thread somewhere about it.

EDIT: much larger for the M62 equivalent.

 

Steigmeier does this with the M112

 

IMO superchargers only really good for a high displacement engine. Take the Dodge hellcat for example. For everything else a turbo is the way to go.

 

well in all reality turbos are arguably even better for larger displacement. because spooling with a massive engine is much quicker. and in turn you can make WAY more power.


a superchargers biggest advantage is INSTANT power.

 

Which even turbos outshine in a proper compound setup. Then you can really have the best of both worlds, instant power and high boost. But that's very expensive to do properly haha
