Let's see who has the lowest miles on their 1st Gen

Oh man...that's a dream truck right there if only it had a manual trans. I love the step side 1st gen Tacomas.

 

Wow they are still out there. That might be the last low mileage TRD stepside that's out there though. Well someone will think it is and gladly give 20k+ for it. What a market first gen tacos have.... It's a riot man

 

Agreed needs a third pedal. I like the step sides too - they seem to be pretty rare, I'd like to know how many were produced vs. fleetside.

I enjoy browsing the classifieds to see what's out there, it's cool finding the well kept survivors. People love these trucks and for good reason!

Please please please if you don't know about the rust/frame issues in your region for those Tacomas, it's bad, please stay on the frame maintenance. It'd be a shame to lose a mica spruce to a rotted frame. A low qty color and looks really nice when maintained. And the frames in your area need to be fluid filmed yearly to keep the rust destroyer at bay

 

Been living in NY for most of my life, understand the rust issues. Purchased it with a fresh undercoating so (unfortunately) going to have to hope it’s a frame with minimal rust. All else looks good so assuming I’m ok there. But trust that my frame will be freshly uncoated every single year.

is that the Toyota frame warranty undercoating, CRC rubbery stuff, kinda thickish?

 

Don’t think so. I purchased the vehicle from a dealership that put the undercoat on.

 

just keep an eye on it! i have a 'wealth' of experience I am now finding out with the rubbery coatings

 

I plan on doing everything I can to keep the rust at bay. Like I said earlier, I’ll undercoat every winter. Stoked to find such a low mileage taco and plan on keeping it for a long long long time.

 

My 2001 has 111k last 3k were Supercharged miles.

 

my 99 extracab has 78K miles.
