I just find it hard to believe, with the vast majority of 3rd Gen owners either winning their trucks at a bench-press competition or getting their super model girlfriends to buy them one, that OP was enough of a chump to actually spend his own money getting one!

Dude, I’m glad you like your truck. But saying it took years and years? You are 31 and looks like you had a ‘16 trd OR before this. If this is a grab for attention you got it. If you need to show how much money you have and what you can afford, we’d all be more excited to see the pics of the truck and mods.

It's funny that in this day and age, the ability to do a little bit of addition and save money is somehow noteworthy.

Sorry for the late response... I was out enjoying life without kids. Unless you're a contractor, building your own place isn't realistic for the the general public. Too bad about having to spend extra insurance money because of the accident but nice rig none the less. Let's go full circle and and say you were wrong and kids don't make the man you are.

24k OTD with 31,xxx back in May.

    2.7 5spd r156f aka bulletproof.

Sure, regear required moving up tires, but couldn’t justify a V6 price tag. Rich or not, can’t see why anyone would pay 50k for a pretty stock Tacoma when you could buy a lesser trim and use the remaining cash to build a beast..

Maybe you didn’t sense the semi-sarcasm. Obviously it’s because “they can” and clearly the only reason lol. Thanks bro for that clarification, gotta get that post count up somehow, huh?

Rhetorical question, please don’t answer lmfao.

I don't even know what semi sarcasm is. I made good choices and saved along the way. I like modern upgrades and making my truck mine. It sounds ridiculous to me to hear people say they can't afford a 50k truck then buy someone's 31k mile truck and need to put 10k in it to make them happy, pay a higher interest rate and wish for things that will never happen. I'm quite comfortable with my truck and I'm currently upgrading everything in a responsible manner. The V6, leather and more modern stuff are quite worth it to me.

Except most people with car payments have car payments because they literally cannot afford their vehicle.

Most people with car payments aren't maxing out their 401k and IRA contributions. Many are living paycheck to paycheck. I'm shocked when people tell me they have $600+ car payments.

I've never regretted having a pink slip and no payments. No ragrets.

^^^This. People leasing $50k+ cars and trucks because they can’t afford the larger monthly payment is another unwise financial move.

I’ll PayPal someone $20 if they can make this thread disappear. I’ve worked really hard to make this possible. I saved up all of yesterday to be able to afford it.
