Can't you just cut them off and solder on spades?

 

Yah I could but my question is still what wires from the original horns do I connect to the ones from the harness?

 

Isnt there only one wire from the Tacoma? It that's the case, just wire one hot, the other is probably the ground

The one from your button horn will be the one connected to #86 connector to trigger the relay to make your supertones sounds..

 

I have hellas. You get power and ground from the harness (battery and ground on the body somewhere). The wire on the stock horns goes to the wire in the harness that is used to send the "signal" to the horns.

i appreciate all the help guys, and sorry its been a while to post this but been busy with the holidays and whatnot, but I did use the harness I baught and it was quite simple actually, the only confusing part was which plug to insert for the horns with the harness however it didn't matter cause I was able to insert it into the stock wiring without splicing.

 

I realize this thread is pretty old, and doesn't get a lot of traffic. However, I wanted to thank the OP and all of TW - another successful mod thanks to this site! Installed my Hella horns this past Saturday pretty easily using this thread. Thanks!

 

I have a set of Hella on my Corolla-Matrix. It was an upgrade to the weak meep meep toy horn.
But I think it would be a downgrade compared to the stock Tacoma horns. Maybe it's just the higher tone that I think wouldn't suit the truck. But if you like the sound, run em or perhaps 2 sets!

 

I’ve had these on my taco for ten years now. People jump when I shoot em off. Way better than stock. Put a capacitor across the relay contacts to make em hit harder.

Kinda funny the OP paid 70 bucks for two. I paid 65 bucks for 4 of them..... no clue how I wired them. I did it too long ago. But its loud AF

 

I don't get it. I had a Subaru Legacy so I frequented some Subaru forums, and I still didn't get it.

 

I bought these...for under 20 hard to resist....... will be doing the install probably in the spring when it thaws around here.......

I am a little confused about the wiring.... do I need a relay or do they simply connect to the wiring that’s there?

 

WiDi in post #88 above. I just replaced the oem horns with the Hellas on my Solara, with no issues. Can't speak for the Tacoma, as I'm running stock horns. Suggest reading the complete post, it prob contains your answers. It is only 5 pages. Good buy @ $20.

I installed them on my 08 and use the OEM wiring. No issues other than I hated the sound. After about 1 month I took them out and did the 4-horn "train horn" mod using old GM horns off a Cadillac.
