Yes, ease of install and cost. This will be my first retrofit to install and I didn't want to get into time and effort to get everything aligned perfectly. I just sold a 2007 Civic Si that I had TSX retrofits in and I loved them so it's the first order of business on my Taco.

Yes, I will use my stock lights. Going to leave the reflector chrome and black out the rest. Leaving the amber in them too for more of a stock look.

Next thing I would like to toy with is retrofitting the factory fogs with these mini projectors. You could use them as an extra high beam too. I don't think anyone has done this.

i posted this in another thread as well, but it applies here too. these four output pics are of complete mod free hid projectors. no cutting of the reflector bowl is need.

and for those doing this kind of retro, remember to secure your dust covers tightly. if not, then you will get dirt inside the headlight housing during long trail runs.. ask me how i know this...

might look different, but all cut out the center of the stock dust boot and put on. it was a tight fit, i had to use a screwdriver to help stretch it out

OP - Have you considered retrofit projectors in turn signals?

no. the only mod i see doing is either some offroad hid's in a light bar or doing the blinker swap and dropping in some hella's in the bumper where the stock blinkers are located

Wow! Thanks IamTacO for the great info! I'm just about to make my move on the Bi-Xenon FX-R Stage IV Kit with Apollo Shrouds and Philips D2S bulbs. My only hesitation is how to mount the projectors accurately?

Again, thanks for all the great info. guys!
