    Hi all,

2015 TRD Sport - 4 DR - I've scuffed up my front bumper and I want to install a bumper guard.

Any recommendations for an easy to install, non invasive and good looking Front bumper guard, for a daily driver city truck with a bit of offroad time?

    Cheers and thanks!

How did you scuff it and where on the bumper? If you're thinking of something like a bull guard/bumper guard, it'll hurt your approach angle, if that matters. Or you might be able to apply some 3M clear film if you think that might help.

avid off road makes one. It is probably the best option unless you do a plate bumper.

Thanks for a replies, all. It was scuffed by someone in a parking lot - my front bumper paint was perfect until it happened - passenger side corner.

Thought it would be a good time to start to play with the truck - get it ready for some more time off-road - I still haven’t really had a chance to really get into some off-roading and my Tacoma is supposed to be great on trails and off-road.

So I started looking a cool aftermarket bumper options that would look great and also eliminate problems with scratches etc when on trails and around the city.

You can do a hybrid bumper (pic below) which will save some weight over a plate bumper
    [IMG]

These are both off the @RelentlessFab website. Any bumper guard that I'm aware of isn't going to give you protection at the corners and a lot of them will bend with a minor impact and end up causing more damage.

Avid bumper looks good - any downfalls to it? Easy to install myself?
I’m surprised that TRD doesn’t have one....

Yes, super easy to install. Research more here. Avid is a vendor on Tacoma World. https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/avid-off-road.98/

I've had an Avid bumper guard for 4 years now and it has held up very well.

If it was up to me, I’d go with a hybrid or plate bumper Ebay got good deals ‘round
$400-500. Many members are rockin them and seem to like them versus name brands.
With the avid bumper guard it seems limited on the protection side from my perspective because of the open areas on the bumper nawmeen? Also you should check out the slim line bumpers they kind look oem and badass.

Welcome to TW! Keep in mind that going with a full plate bumper will require a suspension upgrade unless you spend more going with an aluminum bumper.

I Would probably go aluminum - I worry about resale tho when considering a plate
Bumper like that made of aluminum....

looks great tho imo. Does anyone know where in the gta I can buy and have one installed? Any solid Tacoma knowledgeable shops around that anyone can recommend for building and installing and providing guidance?

    thanks

    Thanks.

So my 2015 v6 trd sport is no longer on warranty - and obviously I’m trying to pick the smartest road for a build that will allow me to tackle 75% of Ontario trails but still be a good daily driver that fits in an underground parking lot for work...

the new bumper, is obviously part of this....

anyway - if anyone has a thread that they like, or some info around a good daily driver
Build for a 2nd gen Tacoma that will be used a daily driver it would be appreciated.

thanks to everyone that took the time to reply to my thread....

    Cheers!
