New tires for my TRDPro 6 speed manual stock

BFG had a manufacturer rebate for $100 off of four tires. TireBuyer.com offered me 7% off for my service and I got them shipped to a local installer and on the truck for $100 plus tax. All said and done, it ran me $825.

So the trick to avoid the tires from robbing, is to stick with the pro wheels?? if you installed 1.1/4" spacers to give a wider stance, would the tires rub?

 

I can almost guarantee that they would on a Pro. Looking at the wheel at full lock in wither direction at full lock, I have just about 1-1.5" of clearance front and back. If you add that much positive offset, at full lock, they wheels sill run right into the cab mount and inner fender. You'd gan the clearance on the upper control arms, but the car would squeal like a pig. My coworkers said I should do just that and I laughed. Even the extremes have limits, and I can tell you that this tire on a stock setup without spacers is at my limit for comfort. Don't do it.

 

So, you would have to do the CMC and probably trim the inner fender to be able to run the 285/75 16 tires on the pro with the pro wheels and a 1.1/4" wheel spacer?
Or do you still see the tires rubbing?

 

Some trimming/massaging and the CMC would, based off of what I see on my ruck, have to be done. I doubt you'd have any issues after that. For me, it's just not worth the extra cost and labor. I'd rather buy other shiny things or invest it.

That is very close... Pictures are very helpful.. I have the Pro wheels with the stock tires and 11/4" wheel spacers, the stock tires do not rub, but have been contemplating installing the bigger tires 285/75 16 tires..

I'd advise you pull the spacers if you're considering the larger size. The stance doesn't look bad at all. Dege of the tire sits at the fender flare. I'll take some stance pics tomorrow for you.

I'm running 275/70/17 on stock off road suspension with just minimal fender trimming, no rub.

 

One piece of advice, is stay with a C load tire or lighter. I definitely won't be going anywhere near E load again. Rides like a wooden roller coaster.

 

different strokes, brother. you couldn't pay me to run less than E's. in fact, i run E range 30" tires, which are the firmest of them all by far. it's all about how you use em. the harder you push on them the more they give and softer they get.

That’s really good to know! I think the 265 75 16 is just the “safe” size to say doesn’t require any altercations and can run stock rims and everything.
