Yes, it is a work of art!

 

I bought this new box and amp board from Mr. Marv a while ago and finally got around to installing it with a JL 12tw3 and Alpine PDX-V9 amp, upgrading from a 10w1v3 and PDX5. Marv makes fantastic enclosures that fit perfect.

 

Yesterday I welded the new exhaust together from the Y pipe back. Magnaflow high flow cat, Vibrant ultra quiet resonator, Magnaflow 12276 24” oval muffler, and 2.5” stainless tubing. It sounds fantastic with the equal length stuff.

Annual update. I decided to finally get the SOS rear disc conversion to go with the Sequoia master cylinder kit I bought a year ago. I needed to replace the bent drivers spindle as well. So that turned into needing two front calipers and finding a torn passenger side inner CV boot . I decided to dump the coin on OEM front calipers and pads, and Stoptech slotted and cryo’d rotors. These are for a 5th gen 4runner, slightly larger and bolt right up. If these fail I will probably get some 6 pistons.



The rear disc conversion was pretty straight forward. Disassemble the drums, pull the axles, cut off the backing plates and bolt everything up. Assembling the ebrake drum assembly was the hardest part. The master cylinder was easy enough but I still need to bleed the ABS pump.











Got some new shoes, SCS BR6 17x9 -38.











I haven’t driven it out of the driveway yet. I eyeballed the alignment today and am waiting on a scan tool that can hopefully bleed the ABS pump, and then I’ll get the alignment done. Ordered a new CV assembly from CVJ and will reboot the torn unit and keep as a spare.

 

Finally installed my 3* exhaust cam gears and relocated the front O2 sensors to the lower bungs on the URD headers.

did you add lockers to the truck?

 

No, I kinda wish I did. Just an LSD in the back.

ive been thinking of adding front and rear next year sometime.
I supposedly still have my stock lsd in the rear but idk if the last time they redid the gears they left the clutch packs or not lol

 

I imagine they did, they should have bolted the new ring gear to the factory LSD carrier and dropped it back in.

I hear yah, I’ve debated going back and adding lockers, but I have the 4runner for hard trails. I’d rather spend money on whana them compressor thingies for the top of the engine in the taco

 

OBX is a tough on things. My driver side components started crackling and stopped work while hitting the expansion gaps on bonner bridge a while back. This was my second set of Focals so I decided to try something different, Rockford Fosgate punch series.

 

Wow, never heard of Focal quality issues... how are you liking the RF? I'm still sporting my Infinitys.
